Additional Comments: Is anyone else disappointed in the direction Kate's character has taken? I liked her a lot at first and thought there was great potential there for her to get back to her Connie roots. Also, I thought it would be interesting for Carly to find out about her past with Sonny. But they seemed to have dropped that. Now she seems just really stiff and prissy.

Message: Kate jumped the shark for me when she was turned into a poor man's version of the Devil Wears Prada character that Meryl played- it is such a rip off that when she is barking at Maxie and Lulu it comes off so forced and uncomfortable - not to mention annoying!

One thing about Kate and her Connie roots: 'You can't go home again.'
I like Kate and can even forgive the way she acted during the Sonny/Michael/Devlin snafu because Kate was trying to turn Sonny into something he wasn't. She was acting like a complete twit. Connie might have been attracted to a bad boy, but Kate isn't.
BTW, who would choose to be with someone they were with when they were a teen-ager, anyway? Maybe temporarily, but not on a permanent basis. Everyone grows up.

Message: Kate was fast becoming one of my favorites. At last, a classy, intelligent, career woman, one who didn't dress like a street walker, who didn't sleep with the town's male population in her first month in town, who spoke well, had heart and good sense. A woman many of us can relate to. Her main flaw was her attraction to a slimey pig of a murdering mobster. That was inexplicable. But she did seem to make him more human, more tolerable. Then he reverted to type and that ghastly low-life Claudia came in to mess up the story. The romance was turning rocky and yet, there was something there.
Well, that is over. She is still an admirable woman (and just because someone speaks well and doesn't dress like a slut does not mean she is prim and prissy or 'uppity'!), but what story will she have if she is out of Sonny's orbit. We know how hard it is to get air time if an actor isn't 'connected', so to speak.
I still like her, but I fear for this lovely new character.

I was a Kate fan up until Sonny proposed to her on their old street and he torched/trashed their favorite restaurant, or was it the movie house? He was an ass and she should have cut all ties with him then and there. Her latest act of desparation in paying Ian off was beyond idiotic.
PS What the hell happened to all Ian's $$$?...He got over 10 mil from Nik and 1 mil from her.
