Topic: OMG Disney, where is your brain, how hypocritical can you be

Additional Comments: Having brought up the OT subject of Miley Cyrus having no fear that Disney will try to get rid of her, I now read that Disney corp. has "grounded" Miley for four to six months. How assenine is that> Look at bordering on porn work you are promoting in the soaps and then you have the hypocrasy to turn round and "ground" Miley. I hope it comes back to bite you one hundred fold.

Message: Her parents are the ones who should be grounded. For allowing greed to interfere with their responsibility to protect their child. They are disgusting.

Message: So it's only ok for Disney to profit from pimping these kids out any other type of pimping is not allowed. MC is a kid and she took a photo that the photographer thought was cutting edge- but that is the kind of photographer AL is - no MC should not have been left there without her parents - although grandma was said to be around - I am sure she could have been distracted etc-but MC parents should have had the final say on what got published and if they have given up that right then that is the shame here-if her parents approved the photo then it's on them in the end - either way when these kids become famous you can only hope that they have parents who are totally in the game. Her family seem pretty grounded so I think it's ok to allow for a mistake here or there or a misunderstanding-hell she took a photo that was too suggestive-ok got it - now just let her move on. It is not like our kids are not bombarded day and night with sex, drugs- alcohol- school shootings- war etc. I know that tweens around here do not read VF mag- they caught onto all the hype and saw the photo but they never would have if it were not for the hype. Sometimes you just can't win, you can't break even and you can't get out of the game- lose/lose.

Message: Why was she posing for Vanity Fair (a women's magazine) and not CosmoGirl, Teen Vogue, or YM?

Message: All this hoopla over the 'Hannah Montana' kid? Big deal....let her sit it out for six months. She's already made more money than she'll ever spend. So, it's one less bike for her *vintage bike collection* or 1 less botox treatment for mom this year, LOLOLOLOL! It's a good lesson for these show-biz parents that wanna pimp their kids before they're even old enough to drive or vote! Hey, mom/dad, check out Britney Spears and her lil sis....maybe you'll thank Disney someday....or Lindsay Lohan. That's what happens when CHILDREN, which is what these celebs are/were are bombarded with unhealthy media attention and thrown into the adult world with no restrictions! The chickens always come home to roost.....ALWAYS.

Message: Maybe, Disney was a big harsh, but Miley's audience is a family audience. Why would her parent allow her to do this. The photographer explained what she would be doing, they saw the digital photos immediately after they were taken (according to Vanity Fair). They should have known better.

Message: Boy, Disney sure isn't what it used to be, lol. That being said though, there IS a difference between adult and children's/family programing. I'm glad that Disney is taking SOME kind of stand here. How many children and young teens watch these shows? When you're one of the star celebrities of these kinds of programs, you DO have a responsibility to behave accordingly. Why in the world was she doing an article for Vanity Fair anyway? It is an adult publication not a teen magazine. Bottom line with me is, Miley's parents are the ones who should be policing this kind of media attention! That's THEIR JOB!! She's still a child, celebrity or not and she should be protected from this kind of exposure. I have to question their judgement.

Message: There is a big difference between daytime & ABC Family type programming! Soaps are meant for adults, not tweenies. But then, as I've said before (along w/others), tweens aren't reading Vanity Fair either, so I don't 'get' why they did the layout/article in the first place!
