Topic: I love Jason and all.....but....

Additional Comments:

it's ridiculous that he's willing to end the violence in his world for Michael but not his own flesh and blood?? Come on people! (By people, I mean, writers!) It makes no sense whatsoever. If he doesn't mention Jake in the next 5 minutes of his convo with Carly, I may never forgive him. :)

Currently Jake is safely in a home leading a living a life with his mother and with Lucky playing his dad. Jason is out of Jake's life and Liz has vowed to keep it that way to protect Jake. Jake will never know Jason is his father (until he's SORASed). So whatever Jason does right now to change his ways, it will have no effect on Jake.

On the other hand, he is Michael's uncle and Michael does look up to Jason, second to Sonny. Jason is in Michael's life, unlike Jake's. Jason's attempt at making a change is never too late. Especially for Michael.

But the writers leaving Jake completely out of Jason's conversation was remiss, I think. To think he wouldn't relate losing Jake because of his lifestyle in his discussion with Carly seems a bit irresponsible.

I can understand that Jason sees Michael as the child in imminent danger, while Jake is safe.

What I can't understand is why Jason thinks keeping his hands clean makes any difference.  He's willing to work for the mob, he's willing to take the mob's money, but he won't pull the trigger himself?   So what?  He's still a mobster, a bad guy, and a lousy example.

  • Michael would love right now to step right into Jason's shoes, if he had the chance. Helena

IMO this kinda explains the whole Sam situation.

Apparently Jason can *forgive* Sam (and shag her) for endangering Jake but he went on a complete vendetta against Claudia for endangering Michael.  Is this proof that Michael means more to Jason than Jake does?  Jason couldn't give up the mob life to build a home for his son, but is willing to give up the mob life for Michael and his life.

Sad...I never thought I would be this disappointed in Jason...never.

  • Ads I understood it, he isn't giving up his mob life, he is trying to give up killing people on order. He explained to Sonny, I'll be your second in command, but not your enforcer (murdering thug). I really don't see how it helps Michael. Too little, too late. GHFan
  • I'm w/you GH fan...how is that ever going to help Michael. The only way to help Michael (and Jake) is to go legit, keep the bodyguards and acknowledge his child when the time is right. You know what I was thinking.....if GH is still around in say 10 years (SORAS), Jake & Michael are going to be at odds because Jason was more of a father to Michael than Jake and that is going to be explosive. Does it really matter what Jason says or does in this whole situation?  Because at the end of the day it seems that Michael truly views Jason (as Sonny does) as an employee.  Sonny only gives lip service to Jason being his "best friend" when it serves his cause.  The minute Jason opposes Sonny -- he is deemed as being disloyal.   So I don't think Jason has the ability to sway the twisted and destructive thinking of Michael.
