Additional Comments:

Carly's attack on Olivia last week almost made me a sympathizer. Almost. But let's look at Olivia's behavior starting before she even came onto the canvas.

Her son, Dante, is a cop who is unaware he is the son of Sonny Corinthos, a thug he has vowed to take down for allegedly killing his only father figure. Olivia knows this. Everybody who knows the real Dante knows this.

Knowing this Olivia leads him right to Sonny and Port Charles where she decides to stay.

Not only that she more than leads him there, she is flirting with Sonny (unaware of Dante) and banging one of his employees to make him jealous.

She is more than flirting with Sonny, she is enabling him, praising him and comforting him in his lifestyle and she is right there for him the minute Claudia is out of the way. Pounce!

Yet, the very reason she keeps Dante and Sonny's relationship a secret from eachother for thirty years is Sonny's dangerous and horrible lifestyle.

Olivia, you contradict yourself.

So now she knows Dante is about to make his move against Sonny and since Sonny always wins and has terminators working for him, this is a death sentence for Dante.

Olivia knows this but continues to play with the three men in her life like a cat plays with its catch.

Olivia has also put Johnny's life in danger by uising him to make Sonny jealous. I'm pretty sure Johnny was considered a waste product a couple of times when Sonny sent him out on jobs. Olivia knows this.

Olivia is putting both her own son and the man she claims to care about in danger while horning after the man who will do the damage to them both.

It seems to me that Olivia is disgustingly selfish and a twisted mother because she cares more about her sexual desires than her own son's life.

Think the show has Over Dosed on Olivia! I have had about enough...time for her to go visit the family back in NY and if she stays Forgetabouther!

Olivia is just a big hypocrite.  She is sleeping with poor Johnny, but she is lusting after Sonny.  ( I still can't figure that one out)  She has kept her son away from his father all his life, but then sings Sonny's praises and tells him what a great father he is.  If he was such a good father, why did she keep Dante away from Sonny all this time?

I so agree with Carly.  I think Olivia is a hypocritical slut who wants to wallow in the mud, loves it and  then pretends she isn't really like that.  I just hate the way she blames her pathetic behavior on her neighborhood.  I look forward to the day that Johnny finds out what she has been doing, because whatever Carly said to her will sound like singing when he is done.  She is so slimy to me and nothing more than a Claudia wannabe.

  • In this case I also agree with Carly, who is also a hypocrite. But Claudia is a slutty kind of hipocrite, just like Carly used to be but in a different way. Like you said, Olivia likes to get dirty but doesn't want anyone to know and fingers others for getting dirty openly while she does it on the sly. Helena

Helena, of COURSE she's twisted and sick! If she was Mother Theresa and put her kid before everything else, she'd be a boring soap character. Especially when the kid is a grown man. I like the way Olivia keeps digging herself in deeper and deeper every day. I'm hoping the big Dante reveal will be "must see TV" when it all comes crashing down around her. I'm anxious to see how it plays out.

  • Don't worry. I have a deep appreciation for certain characters written for us to pick on. Olivia is defintely one of them. Alexis isn't. Olivia's Sonny love is what's making me dislike her most. Or is it her endangering her own son's life because she wants to get laid by Greasy and play Johnny on the side? Helena

I have never been an Olivia fan, but I didn't mind her when she first got together with Johnny.  But ever since Dante showed up in town, I have lost all respect for her.  She wants her son to give up on bringing Sonny down, why?  Because deep down she wants to be with Sonny.  The way she preached to Kate when she showed up first is enough for me to hate Olivia forever.

Dante has been training for this all his life.  Olivia acts like she didn't know about this.  She knew who Dante's father was, she knows what Dante's career goals were, and yet she acts outraged that Dante dares to think ill of Sonny.  Olivia has put Sonny and even Johnny before Dante too many times for me to like her now.  She is also using Johnny.  She will kick him to the curb when Sonny crooks his finger.

If she is so conflicted, she should a) tell Dante the truth and b) move the heck away from Port Charles and Sonny.  But she is too selfish to do either.

  • Yes! Thanks for reminding me about her hypocritcal lecture to Kate when she first landed on the scene before the wedding. Then as soon as Kate dumped Greasy, Olivia lit on him like a fly to the strip. She's gross. Helena
  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! - Its pretty infantile, and i actually am one of the very few who LIKES sonny....BUT.....every time I see hom referred to as GREASY....i CRAAAAAAAACK - Thanx Hele!!! - i needed to ROFL today!!! :-) ... - chris

In the beginning I used to like Olivia, mainly because she had the guts to have a relationship with an younger man.  That was then.  Now it appears that she isn't thinking through her situation.  She doesn't see things clearly and is reacting all over the place instead of having a clear view of the realities of her situation.

She wants to have a good relationship with Dante, Sonny and Johnny but doesn't seem to understand what that will mean in terms of outcome.  What does she think is going to happen when Sonny and Dante find out they are father and son?  In Claudia's horrible death, Sonny has just shown what happens when he feels betrayed.  Does she think they're going to hug and all will be well?

How about Dante's years of preparation to become a trusted undercover cop?  Do they get tossed aside as if they were nothing?  How will he react when he is also betrayed?  And, not only betrayed but also led into the situation by his own mother who appeared to support him?

And there's Johnny.  I guess his feelings don't count to her.  His caring and love and support will mean nothing compared to the awful situation she has put him in by being the mother of the son of the man who killed his sister.  And, keeping it a secret.

She is acting as if she doesn't have a clue.  It will all blow up in her face.  It looks like so many potential double-crosses to me and I can't see a good outcome at all.

  • Great analysis. Olivia is using all three men and she is too selfish to see that. ladfan
  • So basically she's hornier than she is smart. I can't stand her acting like a confused teenager when she's in her forties. Unbecoming! helena
  • She's a single woman who can chose to have sex with anyone she wants. That does not make her bad. It is her decisions she makes in relationships that may be a problem for her. Jean eom
  • Jean, my biggest problem with Olivia is that she is interfering with Dante's ability to do his job, up to the point of endangering his life, yet she is unwilling to admit that or do anything about it. It's an about-face for the character, who is supposed to be a caring mother above all. She looks like a slave to her hormones (which I can understand to some extent, LOL). But if she's going to go for Sonny, there's no other way to do it. A woman has to lose her brain before she goes there. It's mandatory. //SqueezeMe
  • Very funny. Ha ha. Jean eom
