Carly's attack on Olivia last week almost made me a sympathizer. Almost. But let's look at Olivia's behavior starting before she even came onto the canvas.
Her son, Dante, is a cop who is unaware he is the son of Sonny Corinthos, a thug he has vowed to take down for allegedly killing his only father figure. Olivia knows this. Everybody who knows the real Dante knows this.
Knowing this Olivia leads him right to Sonny and Port Charles where she decides to stay.
Not only that she more than leads him there, she is flirting with Sonny (unaware of Dante) and banging one of his employees to make him jealous.
She is more than flirting with Sonny, she is enabling him, praising him and comforting him in his lifestyle and she is right there for him the minute Claudia is out of the way. Pounce!
Yet, the very reason she keeps Dante and Sonny's relationship a secret from eachother for thirty years is Sonny's dangerous and horrible lifestyle.
Olivia, you contradict yourself.
So now she knows Dante is about to make his move against Sonny and since Sonny always wins and has terminators working for him, this is a death sentence for Dante.
Olivia knows this but continues to play with the three men in her life like a cat plays with its catch.
Olivia has also put Johnny's life in danger by uising him to make Sonny jealous. I'm pretty sure Johnny was considered a waste product a couple of times when Sonny sent him out on jobs. Olivia knows this.
Olivia is putting both her own son and the man she claims to care about in danger while horning after the man who will do the damage to them both.
It seems to me that Olivia is disgustingly selfish and a twisted mother because she cares more about her sexual desires than her own son's life.

I have never been an Olivia fan, but I didn't mind her when she first got together with Johnny. But ever since Dante showed up in town, I have lost all respect for her. She wants her son to give up on bringing Sonny down, why? Because deep down she wants to be with Sonny. The way she preached to Kate when she showed up first is enough for me to hate Olivia forever.
Dante has been training for this all his life. Olivia acts like she didn't know about this. She knew who Dante's father was, she knows what Dante's career goals were, and yet she acts outraged that Dante dares to think ill of Sonny. Olivia has put Sonny and even Johnny before Dante too many times for me to like her now. She is also using Johnny. She will kick him to the curb when Sonny crooks his finger.
If she is so conflicted, she should a) tell Dante the truth and b) move the heck away from Port Charles and Sonny. But she is too selfish to do either.

In the beginning I used to like Olivia, mainly because she had the guts to have a relationship with an younger man. That was then. Now it appears that she isn't thinking through her situation. She doesn't see things clearly and is reacting all over the place instead of having a clear view of the realities of her situation.
She wants to have a good relationship with Dante, Sonny and Johnny but doesn't seem to understand what that will mean in terms of outcome. What does she think is going to happen when Sonny and Dante find out they are father and son? In Claudia's horrible death, Sonny has just shown what happens when he feels betrayed. Does she think they're going to hug and all will be well?
How about Dante's years of preparation to become a trusted undercover cop? Do they get tossed aside as if they were nothing? How will he react when he is also betrayed? And, not only betrayed but also led into the situation by his own mother who appeared to support him?
And there's Johnny. I guess his feelings don't count to her. His caring and love and support will mean nothing compared to the awful situation she has put him in by being the mother of the son of the man who killed his sister. And, keeping it a secret.
She is acting as if she doesn't have a clue. It will all blow up in her face. It looks like so many potential double-crosses to me and I can't see a good outcome at all.
