Subject: I don't think I entirely agree. Yes, he should follow instructions and yes, he should ask permission if he can, but if the coach was busy, does it really make sense to just sit there with a bad cramp? I wouldn't. (To bring it into an adult example -- if I was at a mandatory staff meeting and faced that type of problem, I would walk out of the meeting to deal with it, and if my manager asked why I missed the meeting, I'd explain it and fully expect her to be OK with the reason. Fairness is very important and the coach should be willing to explain and discuss things with everyone, including parents. If he can't do that, he shouldn't be coaching children. Maybe Kody was acting up, but the coach should have been willing to discuss it. eom--RK
