Subject: Oh yeah, I forgot that part. You'll probably have to take a parenting class. In TN, in order to even get a divorce, you have to take a parenting class and bring the certificates with you to court to show that you did take it. 99% of it, dang, 100% of it is common sense. Don't talk negatively about the ex to the child, etc. Don't question the child about any boyfriend/girlfriend the ex may have, you know stuff like that. Don't put the child in the middle. well DUH, but there are some idiots out there I guess who DO that stuff. In fact, I know there are. Poor kids! eom/pm

Subject: I absolutely agree about the not talking badly part. Kids don't need to deal with adult problems, etc. My DH isn't a bad guy--it's just not working anymore. But that was definitely on my list of what not to do! --ANON

Subject: I agree with this. My experience is from being a child of divorce. My dad WAS a bad guy, in many ways. But we had to listen to so many people putting him down & at that age we were still very young, didn't understand a lot of things, & no matter how you slice it, he was still our dad. Our ONLY dad. As we aged, we saw & processed things differently. cc
