Subject: I am in complete agreement with your asessment of Cook. He has that combo of vocal and performance skills. I think his background in the performing arts really shines through. He's a risk taker and I like that. Syesha on B/way would be fabulous. That's no small feat. You must have talent to succeed. If Little David wins, I think he will be a marketing nightmare due to his age. Jordin Sparks was the same age but looked much older, thus she could sing the mature songs and not appear silly. David still looks like a little boy but has a huge voice. Castro appears to be a mess. Let's just see what we learn after he leaves. As you suspect, there is more than meets the eye. Subject: ITA about David and his performing arts background shining through. It's such a neat thing w/ a 'supposed rocker'...however, after last night...not thinking he is a rocker at all (but in a good way). True about Jason...it will all come to light soon enough and most possibly after tonight! bella tx

I wanted to add that I've worked in music, both teaching and performing, most of my life. Let me tell you, most folks are not polite. There is a lot of competition and back-stabbing. If you don't develop a thick skin, it's best to move on. It's sad but true. AND.....there is always someone waiting to replace you. My comments on the board are not meant to be unkind, just 'direct'.

I appreciate your taking the time to write that out for my understanding, I truly do. While I was not in the music industry, per se, I have spent a great deal of time around the theatre in various capacities. So, I know that what you speak of re: thick skin, competition, etc. is very true (albeit, a different industry).
Just to be clear: I didn't think for a moment you were being unkind...I really did not. I just thought it more unfair to say that Jason wanted to leave. I have seen people DO what Jason is doing before. People that don't have the mental toughness to stick it out...self defeatists. I think that is what is happening here....Brooke had a similiar problem, however, she managed it differently.
