Now, The Daughter just went through something similar to this. It involves a girl with whom she was best friends all through high school...they've parted ways over the last couple of years. Anyways, a friend of The Daughter's BF was with this girl when somebody else came by. The person said something about The Daughter that was a lie. The girl knew it was a lie...but she started hemming and hawing...the BF's friend was very angry, and told the person it absolutely was not true. Now this got back to The Daughter, of course, who couldn't believe that the girl didn't stand up for her after all they had been through over the years. As far as The Daughter is concerned, their friendship absolutely is done.

Now, a lot of things led up to this. In fact, this was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. But there was a lot of history here.

My point...apparently there is no history here. And I think you're looking into this whole thing way too deeply...but you know that. What's done is done...can't do anything about the past. Take it for what it is right now, and just try to normalize your behavior to this person as much as you can.

As for holding grudges...I'm good for that. But I'm more of a forgive-and-never-forget kind of person....NEVER forget. That keeps you from getting hurt in the future, but the forgiveness part stops you from eating yourself alive. Let it go, Sephora. Put it against something really important....it'll make you see how really insignificant it is. As for Person A...she'll figure you just had a bad day. You're allowed...
