Additional Comments:

has anyone used either of these? my friend wants me to go to an Isagenix party presentation.

i read about this a little and i'm really not interested. was wondering if anyone used this.

on the other side, i just started using ground flax seed. literally just started. it has no flavor. i put it in my yogurt. i think i put too much because it was gritty but no taste. anyway, i just want more fiber in my diet. good thing?

carmen, ground flax is good for the fiber content. It also has a 'good for you oil'.. It should help lubricate the innerds. ;-) Can eas joint pains. If you don't grind it, the body has a problem getting through the had shell. Why? I don't know. The stomach can digest many, many things.

Anyway, If you eat them without grinding them first, they will pass through, (most of them) as roughage, without allowing the 'oil' to be useful to the body. I also like them on oatmeal. I have added them to bread, sprinkled on salad...just wherever you want. I think I also added some to peanut butter and honey.
You can mix the ground flax seed in to shakes. Many uses for these little critters.

My cousins were doing the Isagenix thing for a while.  I don't know much about it though.  I know that they would have a shake for breakfast, have regular food for lunch and then another shake for dinner.  I ate a lot of dinners alone (well, not alone, but I was the only one eating real food) which was odd!  There were some days, cleanse days, where they would ONLY have the shakes.  I think they would have kept up with it if they hadn't been traveling so much.  They both started (and still are) going to seminars, classes and camps a whole lot and they just didn't keep up with it as they were going out for meals with every there.  Other than that, I think they did like the program.  It wasn't cheap though, I know THAT!!

I don't know much about flax seed.  I have been hearing it more lately though, so I think I'm going to look into that :)

  • to me it's just another diet to do and then regain. my friend is like that and she drops programs as fast as she starts them. i just can't commit to something like that knowing the potential of putting on the weight + more. -c-arm

I just had my "power" oatmeal....oatmeal blend with fresh ground flax, goji berries, hemp hearts, Watkin's apple pie spice and splenda. It's soooo good! I am doing a semi candida cleanse but you have to be careful. I don't want to cleanse my body of all my good supplements.

I may have rheumatic fever. My anti-streptolysin titre is 614. It was 650 but I take a garlic/wellness combo that is probably working. I also started echinacea today too.  I have a RX for penacillin which I will be picking up today and will start that. I know I'll get candida build up from it! ugh!

A cheap way to do a detox is apple cider vinegar, baking soda and water. Much cheaper and probably just as effective.

  • proz, where do you find all this information and know what combo for what symptoms? i want to know more! --carm
  • Carm, I belong to a Fibromyalgia board and a natural alternative treatments board. It`s a wealth of info and I`ve learned more science from the two boards than 12 years of school! ROFL I`ve done a ton of research on each item before I start it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. *Proz
