Topic: Well, the dress covers my rear......

Topic Posted by: Lisa P

Additional Comments: Okay, from the dress topic above. Hubby REALLY liked the sequin one that was at this one store. So much so he stopped on his way home from work to pick it up. He never does that. LOL!!
Okay, keep in mind I am sick with the swine flu. I humored him by trying it on and letting him take a few pics. So, I am thinking maybe with the right shoes and bling this could work. I am not sure about the hose. I just tossed on a pair. The red dress below is still an option. I have not been well enough to leave the house to go try it on.
If I did keep the black dress what kind of shoes do you think would look good? I can only do 2 inch heels. It's not as slutty as I thought it would look from the above picture in my dress topic. This is for New Year's Eve in Vegas anyway :-) P.S. I know my basket of bags looks tacky :-)

Wow, you look amazing!  What a great dress and a great husband.  My hubby is sweet, but he has no fashion sense.  If he bought a dress for me it would probably be plaid or something and I would look like a lumberjack. LOL!  Hope you feel better soon.

  • My husband is good with clothes. Not sure where he got it, but he is pretty good. His mom dresses really good so maybe he sees her. Not sure, but sometimes he does not dress himself too well :-)) Thanks. Lisa P

You look amazing Lisa and the dress is perfect for NYE, Vegas or no Vegas.  I really liked the teal dress that Chris didn't like, but I do think this one is a better choice for NYE.  You have such gorgeous skin, may I ask why you need to wear tights at all?  You will be in Vegas and won't it be warm there?  I think you'd look fantastic with just the dress, some flashy earrings, and that shiny lotion the stars put on their legs for pictures and stuff.  JMHO of course :o)

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Thanks Tukey. I could go without hose, but it is December there. I have never been there in December. I am sure it's warmer than here and we'll be inside. Thanks for the nice compliments. I feel like I have been drugged by a truck. Lisa P

  • Yeah, the dress needs some silver bling to go with it for sure. Lisa P

I think the dress looks really cute on you, Lisa.  And since Chris seems so attached to it and went out of his way to get it for you, I'd go with it.   For me, I'd pair it with sheer, nude hose to allow the dress to really stand on its own.  As to the shoes, I'd maybe look for something in black patent.  I think the shine of the shoes would look great with the sparkly dress.

    You're giving H1N1 a good name.

  • Thanks ingy. I had a good cry this morning so you are sweet. Lisa P
  • I probably want closed toed shoes right? Lisa P
  • That's what I'd do unless it's warm enough for sandals on NYE. BTW, sorry about the cry! ~i&b

If Chris likes it, and you are comfortable wearing it and you  like it as well, I say go for it.

How sweet of him to buy it for you!

Dang girl, you look pretty HOT for a sick one!! Cute! Las Vegas again?? wow you 2 are really jet setters! (just joking) Hey did you already make reservations? I know it gets packed there? that would be so fun, but man the people going to be crazy!!

  • I guess you could call this the year of Vegas :-) Well, my first choice was Whistler B.C but with the Olympics the prices were OUTRAGEOUS!!! This trip my MIL and Chris' aunt and cousins are coming. It's a family trip. We have never done that. Yes, we made reservations. Next year we really want to go back to Colorado as it's been years since we have been there. That was our home for 10 years. I feel HORRIBLE still, but you are kind. It was just really sweet of him. He is like, *I love the dress, and I can pick it up as it's on my way home.* :-) How could I act like I didn't care? Lisa P
