Topic: OMG. Guess what Stella told her Grandma on the phone today

Additional Comments:

I was browsing in the mall today, and Stella asked me if she could talk to Grandma on the phone.  That worked out well. I could shop in peace while she walked along beside me chatting on the phone.  Plus, people thought it was cute.

So she told Grandma, "We're shopping in Belk right now.  Do you want to come shopping with us?"

Grandma told her, "I'd love to! I will come down soon and we will go shopping".

Stella told her, "Okay, Grandma.... You need to bring a big bag of money".

A WHAT?  A BIG BAG OF MONEY?

I just about died.

She also told her Hubby Em gave me One Million Dollars and that's why we were shopping.  Um, no.  He did give me shopping money, but it was not a million dollars, LOL!

  • Well, no.... she lives two hours away and was at work (on her lunch break) at the time. So she couldn't just drive down and meet us. But Stella wants her to come shopping soon. eom emmy

Too funny!  Reminds me of when my niece was about 4, very shy and never said a word.  My dad (her grandpa) opened up a mall gift card for his b'day and said kiddingly, now what am I going to do with this? My niece piped up and said, 'give me the credit card and leave the shopping to me'.  We about fell out!  And she is a serious shopper (now a teenager) to this day. So watch out for Stella, she know's what she's doing, LOL!

That little stinker!  Sounds like she has big plans!

You know, I believe in praying for your children's mate even at this age.  Asking God to prepare for them the person with whom they will spend the rest of their life. Asking Him to mold that person and create that person to be the person my/your child will need.

That said, I think you need to be sure and include asking God to make sure Stella's mate has a very well paying job!

  • Not a bad idea. I wonder if it's too late for me to pray for Hubby Em to be rich also? eom emmy

Well, that's better than what my friend told her Grandmother when she was little:  ''We never go to church.  We stay home and drink beer!''

The funniest part was, she was wrong on both counts.  Her family attended church regularly and were not drinkers.  But it took a little while for her parents to convince Grandma of that since the family didn't live anywhere near her. So for a while, they were on Grandma's naughty list.  LOL!

  • O.K. that REALLY made me laugh out loud!! LOL!!!!! Where is a Quaker Chewy Granola Bar when you need one? ~~misspm
  • LMAO! Well, that's pretty much the truth for us, so maybe I better start preparing Stella to say the right thing to Hubby Em's dad. My parents don't care, but his family has ideas about how you raise children, and it doesn't include skipping church or drinking beer. LOL Guess I need to think of a good cover story NOW..... eom emmy
