Additional Comments: I got the "William Sonoma" Catalog in the mail and this Smoky-bacon-biscuit dressing looks to die for. I am thinking of making it instead of the traditional one. The recipe for it is on their website if anyone is curious.
Here is a pic, because you always get a visual from me :-))) YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!!!

  • Hi Laura, I am sorry, I didn't post the recipe, because if you go to William Sonoma's website you can punch in this dressing and the recipe is there. It's much easier to print out :-) Lisa P

Mmmmmm!  Looks like a meal in itself.

I used to sell to Williams-Sonoma.  I alsways liked shopping there.  They always had unusual-to-unique things for the kitchen.

Good,,,,,,,,,while we are on the subject of food, I want to ask those on this board if they ever had strudel from Girl Scouts. We had dinner today at my son's house. He wanted to give me a break because I always have the whole gang for Sunday dinner or cookouts in the summer. He had something I never had before, for dessert. He said a  Girl Scout sold him some cookies but also had these frozen strudels too. He said they come  skinny and long and you take them out of the freezer and let them  thaw and rise, then bake in the oven for 30 min. I have to tell you they are out of this world. Light as a feather and filled with a fruit and cheese type filling,,,TO DIE FOR....only thing is, Where can I get some during the year other than the time the scouts sell their cookies? Does anyone here know anything about these. I would love to get my hands on a bunch and freeze them so I can make them anytime I want. I would appreciate any help in locating them,,,,,,,,,THANKS~~~~~~Barb from New England,,,ps.........The dressing looks sooooooooooooo------good too!

That looks good; I love Williams-Sonoma, the catalog and the stores.

The stuffing I plan to make is cornbread and cranberry.  It has bacon in it too, and onions carrots, chestnuts, cornbread, and dried cranberries as well as the usual sage and chicken broth.

I'm just cooking for the four of us, and I'm working that day, and the day after, so I'm trying not to plan anything too complicated.

This looks truly scrumptious, Lisa P!  And it has all my favorite ingredients especially mushrooms.  Also, hope you don't mind this - I mentioned your story from here today to a friend of mine who has had heartache (miscarriage - foreign adoption falling through, etc.) ...I asked if she'd ever consider opening their hearts up to welcoming an older child who needs a loving home.  And someday - if ever financially able (and married?) - I'd like to do the same.

  • I don't mind at all that you are sharing our story. I never in a million years thought I'd adopt an older child, but here I am. You never know where life is going to take you :-) I am sorry to hear about your friend. My heart goes out to her. Lisa P

This could be a whole other post, but how do you like the stuffing? Some are traditionalist, onions, celery, sausage. Some are different with raisins, apples, etc. We always make a meatless one for the veggies here. Lisa, I love that store, I like to just walk around there and smell all the good smells and see all the goodies they have!

  • I agree, because some people like cornbread stuffing and it's not my favorite. I agree it is nice to have a vegetarian dish version. I have always had the traditional kind, but this one looks so good. I love that store too. I even love the dish this is being served in. You can't see it from the photo. I can't afford it, but it's fun to dream :-)) Lisa P
  • They are pricey thats for sure. but they sure have gadgets you never knew someone made, that come in handy! ~~Bon
