I remember Crisco and coffee cans that opened using a wind key.  My mother would never let me do it because I would break it off and mess it up.  I just opened a Crisco can tonight and thought about those days.

My aunt and uncle--going to their house for a weekend and having so much fun. She would bake cookies and let me have as much as I wanted. She taught me to needlepoint and draw...he always had a new hobby and would teach me about it...Thanksgiving and Christmas at their house...she made it so special. She quilted and crafted and shared so much with us. They were married over 65 years and recently passed away within 4 months of each other. They gave me a lifetime of beautiful, happy memories.

Of course, I always tend to flashback to cheesy music, and today I brought my 1989 Seduction CD to work. The early 20-somethings had no idea. But I am starting to get the nickname "Weird Trio Girl Group Guy". That's fine.

  • Did you know L.M. Montgomery wrote a lot more? My favorite is a collection of short stories called _After Many Days_, mostly about love deferred for various reasons. All her work is based on and around PEI. I loved and have tried to emulate her ability to write surface calm with violent emotions roiling beneath. Hah.
