Additional Comments: I just read (from a usually very reliable source) that DAYS chose to not renew Joe's contract and that he will have no more scenes. I find this a bit hard to believe. Maybe Stefano is gone for GOOD this time?? I thought for sure that he would come back hellbent on revenge.

Message: It's a shame that the character has been dumbed down to a cartoonish stock villain over the past couple decades. There are some great clips of Tony and Stefano from the 80's on YouTube. They were amazing in their scenes together. It really brings home just how badly the talents of Joe Mascolo and Thaao Penghlis have been wasted by Days.

Message: I find it MORE LIKELY Joe left the show (than the show leaving him).He does a lot of Stage Acting & probably got a deal he didn't want to say no to.

Message: JM comes & goes. He always has! Contact or non-contract player, KC always has the door wide open for Stefano's return--no matter HOW pathetic it may be. This is no big deal! As the previous poster said, the Phoenix always rises (IMO, sadly).

The Phoenix will never die! It's just not possible! Stefano is just about the best villian Daytime has ever had. I believe Roger Thorpe on GL was THE best villian ever.
