OMG - - that was frightening!! Poor Josh Taylor just is NOT aging very well. He basically looks like an old woman. He teeters around on high heeled boots that he can barely walk on, he has to wear jackets with shoulder pads to cover up his ever-sloping shoulders, his "teeth" seem to rattle around every time his speaks, the "plugs" just don't seem to be taking and look pretty fake - and all his white roots were showing on the right side of his head. He definitely needed a touch-up. It looked like they just dragged the guy out of his car and threw him in front of the camera without doing all the "prep" work in makeup.
He is almost unrecognizable from the slick sleek hunk he once was back in the day of Days. Him just bantering with Krazy Kate and all these other silly scenes they drag him in for as the "commander" just seem so beneath him. The entire role of "Roman" just seems like a joke. And BTW - who exactly is of higher authority?? Bo as Commissioner or Roman as Commander?? I guess Bo as the Commish - since he's the one wearing a tie while Roman can get away with just a jacket. Oh those Brady-"men"....
And don't go getting all hissy...I'm just saying that sometimes it seems so difficult (not to mention humiliating I'm sure) to keep older actors looking good enough for he cameras - it just MIGHT be better if they simply retired and spared themselves (and us) the torture.
Glad to know I'm not alone. I also just realized - that as a reference point - it is really hard to be in a scene with Kate and actually look like you've had MORE work done than her. I mean her overblown blubbering lips are looking almost cartoonish - and Yet, she still looked more natural than Roman! I'm beginning to think that TPTB should have some kind of approval privileges before these actors go off and do Godknowswhat kind of masochistic work on themselves.
And I agree about going natural. Look at Clint Eastwood who is in his late 70's and still looks decent with no work done - especially compared to some others who are almost unwatchable they look so freak-ish.
We have been laughing at Roman for years. We call him "Mumbles" after the Dick Tracy character. We still talk about the day he was talking to Sami (who he always called "Peanut") and called he "Penis". HOly cow...we watched it over and over again. Hilarious. He's like listening to a bad ventriloquist with no dummy.
Oh and yeah he's had a lot of work done and it doesn't look good.
