Topic: Emmy Nominations

Additional Comments: I've been watching The View and they've announced the Emmy Nominations. Unfortunately, I was on the phone and didn't get all of them and probably won't be posted on web until later, but I did see that Max, Chelsea and Bonnie were nominated. I guess maybe that's why Max and Chelsea get so much face time, but Bonnie??? Why, since she's not on the show anymore. I don't understand who decides the nominees. Anyone know?

Thanks for the information.  I don't know who nominates the actors.  However, I put about as much stock in soap (or hollywood for that matter) nominations as I do in Enron.

I'm thrilled to see Thaao Penghlis nominated.  I really can't think of much great material he's been given in the past year, but I'll be rooting for him anyway because, IMO, he deserves to be right up there with Justin Deas and Erika Slezak in the wins column and has been overlooked for nominations far too often.  (Normally I would abhor the idea of using that kind of reasoning...  but I want Thaao to win, damn it!)

I'll be rooting for:

Outstanding Drama Series:  Guiding Light

Outstanding Lead Actor:  Thaao Penghlis

Outstanding Lead Actress:  Crystal Chappell

Outstanding Supporting Actor:  Trent Dawson

Oustanding Supporting Actress:  Gina Tognoni

Oustanding Younger Actor:  Tom Pelphrey

Oustanding Younger Actress:  Rachel Melvin

Rachel Melvin certainly deserves recognition. But Darin (Max) ?????  Oh please, what were they thinking? IMO he is one of the worst.

Finally! This is the first time any Days actors have been nominated in years. I can't believe that 4 Days actors were nominated and only one GH actor! Too bad it didn't get an Outstanding Drama Series nomination, but then again it probably didn't deserve it. I think all four of these actors are deserving of their nominations, but I have a feeling none of them will win. Where is Kristian Alfonso and Stephen Nichols' nominations though? Martha Madison deserved a nomination too IMO

I'm sure it's from 2007, but whether it's from Jan to Dec or could possibly include anything from 2006, I'm not sure.   Whatever scenes were chosen, would have to fall within a certain time period but I don't remember anything remarkable from any of Days nominees that would warrent a nomination.  But Thaao and also Judi Evans are talented actors when given something to work with.
