Topic: Morgan and Phillip: Why the possibility of this pairing is so interesting....

Additional Comments: I am not exactly sure that I am a big fan of Phillip and Morgan per se, but I see the potential. While Chloe and Phil sizzle, I think the way they just sorta became friends with benefits even as he was flirting with Morgan AND Nicole, not to mention sorta stepping into these young Victoresque shoes, has actually made the pairing more sleazy than than anything else. It is hard to be rooting for a couple that starts out like this. I know they have a past, but what could have been a loving reconnection over time became rather sexual (in a sleazy way) kinda quick. It sorta goes with Phillip and Chloe's new, less than lovable personalities. I know Chloe is into baiting Morgan, but she isn't lying to her. Phillip is up to all sorts of shady and bad........which is why I think he and Morgan work.
Phillip was a sap for so many years, and has only developed his darker, more ruthless edge since he returned to the show a year and a half ago. Since then, he has battled that edge by trying to make nice with Shawn and Belle, only to pursue Belle, then become nice again.....and now he is back to the edge deal. He didn't want to war with John, so it wasn't a natural turn into this darker Phillip again.......but he is so good at lying now that I am interested in his relationship with the spunky Morgan. She doesn't respect Chloe and her 'slutty' non-committed relationship with Phil, and she told Phil as much, and yet she is under this false illusion that Phillip is a good guy -- which he is at heart. He certainly didn't ask Paul to burn John's warehouse down.........BUT, it was because he planted those drugs that things escalated to the point he felt the need to start the fire -- AND it was Phillip's reveal to the cops that got Paul into trouble via his relationship to john in the first place.........while I doubt Phillip will have had a thing to do with Paul's murder, it stands to reason Phillip is going to fall for Morgan and the truth is going to start coming out................to give them so good, old fashioned angst. Yay. Can't wait for this to unfold.

Wellllll - maybe.....  but these 2 really don't wash with me for the simple fact of Philip, Mr. Up-and-coming business mogul/shipping tycoon - and a COLLEGE student????  There's a pretty big age-difference there to begin with - and the very idea of Philip with a sorority girl seems sooo unlikely.  This guy is supposed to be a war veteran - so, him flouncing around with this little intern seems waaaaay too silly to me - but then again, what else is new with silly Days??

I enjoyed your very interesting post. I agree that Phillip and Morgan would be a great pair. They both can act and it would be nice for a change to witness a romance develop in a semi-normal way from the beginning - as opposed to re-hashing the same old storylines.

Nice observations but what do you mean by expressions like  Phillip turns to his "darker" side or his more "darker" ruthless edge. He still looks white to me.
