Days Of Our Lives Discussion Group
First of all - to all those who posted or privately emailed me to indicate that they didn't at al care for the 'directness'/'bluntness' of my post a few moths back in my first experience with this board, dont worry lol! This stay will be as brief as my initial run here was ;)
Secondly, to EVERYONE who posts here, i hope everyone is doing well and i still enjoy everyone's opinions - reading this board - one of the best with some of the best, smartest, kindest and most sincere group of posters - is still a wonderfully diverting outlet and activity to me.
I have kept up with some of you and read as much as i can and i will just briefly say that for the many of those who over the past several months have been suffering some family issues and sometimes health problems that even those of you wohse real name i don't even know, you have been in my prayers and i hope things are at least trying to be better for you all.
Now, to matters at and - yes, much as i enjyed my brief time posting here before, i didn't see circumstances - for a variety of reasons - having me return for more post - shows what i knew lol! Mainly, its changes on the show itself and the direction it has taken since...i would say...the commencement of the Trip to Italy/Plane Crash/Nu John/Ava SL's as the main reason i feel like i need to post some things here.
Also...this board and its' posters itself...another main reason...its saddened me lately...my main affection for this board and respect for its posters always stemmed from 3 main things...sadly, lately, these 3 principles i have seen here - all 3 - reverse themselves and im not sure why, its sad - and anyone who doesn't believe me simply only has to read some of the recent posts and backposts.The 3 precepts i refer to:
1 Posters here always - even when disagreeing - treated each other in friendly and respectful ways...bickering was always more in the line of playful bantering. I don't know why so many snide, nasty and personal comments between posters here has increased so much lately. We're all better than that - let's be good to each other.
2 Accuracy Mattered! - people checked what they were saying -you knew a fellow fan whose post you were reading probably knew what they were talking about...sadly, lately, ive read more incorrect nonsense and untrue bs about actors characters and past SLs that its unreal.
3 Criticisms were always directed at characters (UNREAL people) and plots...never personal or malicious in a REAL-LIFE way...i don't know why lately there has been such a rash of insults made about the real-life actors and their real-life circumstances (appearance, personal life etc) :(
Anyway, recently, ive been able to read up alot on the shows past through articles and the net and rewatched some interviews with the actors themselves as well as a couple with Ken Corday himself and rewatched (courtesy of utube) several old SLs as well as keeping up with this Ava/NuJohn/Ej/Sami/Max-Steph etc 2008 version of DOOL...and well...its all just worked to put a ton of thoughts i have in my head into posts i'd love to share with you all..so...i guess im stopping by one more time to make what will probably be several posts - if that's ok and briefly enjoy you all again.
If i end up posting too much or talking too much, just let me know ;-)
