Hi all, I was just wondering, is anyone else out there just a Days fan, not worrying about who they absolutely hate on the show, and just enjoying the storylines, and the acting of everyone, because we really can;t do anything about it anyway? I have been watching this show since the beginning, through the good and the bad, and all these people, and I mean all, have their place on this show, and even though I may not love the plotlines of their stories all the time, I wouldn't know what to do without my daily fix of Days. God bless ALL the characters on my show.

Well, first off, what exactly does "since the beginning" mean??? The beginning of time - like B.C.?? Or like show #1 back in the 60's?? And if so, that is one loooong solid acceptance of junk! I mean, everyone has had to take a break at some point from this nonsense.
Second, all I can say is that it is totally obvious just what kind of viewers Days gears their silly show to - those such as this poster who clearly keeps her expectations as low as possible. Congratulations. With that kind of "standard" and no-brain mentality - heck, no wonder Days seems "good" to you. Hey honey - - enjoy!! And BTW, I hear you can catch some real high-brow cartoons on the kiddie channels.
Sure, we all have some kind of sick addiction when it comes to Days. Personally, I watch it for the laughs - - but to watch it as good, solid "entertainment", well - that's just plain frightening.
And with idiots like the dirty brat who plays Max - - Days will always remain in the low-rated, joke-of-a-show category - where it so rightfully belongs. So, sure jacsy - keep tuning in for that oh-so-high quality entertainment that you're enjoying so much. Speaks volumes BTW.

Message: I've been watching since a kid in the 70's - I've always had a fondness for the potential of the television soap format of storytelling - will always hold out hope for things to get better - I feel things have improved compared to the dreadful past decade - (I currently think OLTL is doing a decent job) - the ultimate fantasy would be for the show to move to a cable channel and have the gatekeepers let things loose to a fantasy team of writers like the team from Six Feet Under or Weeds and just let the characters unfurl....an unlikely hope, but in the meantime let the cast keep plugging away.....

Message: I feel it's my duty out of loyalty to complain about the show in small hopes that someone important is seeing my posts and realizes that the current direction of the show is submarginal. I saw thursday's show and I actually thought it was pretty good.

Message: I've been watching Days for years and will continue to watch it as long as it's running. I'm not crazy about some of the storylines, but for the most part, I prefer it to any of the other soaps.

It tends to differ each day for me but overall I've enjoyed it so far this week; especially NuJohn's scenes. Sometimes he just cracks me up and part of me hopes for Marlena to get her OldJohn back for their sake but at the same time it would be nice for her to learn to love NuJohn the way he is. I suspect at some point the two "Johns" will somehow blend and become one OldNuJohn. Like many other posters I get really tired of the tween, teen and twentysomethings but if they bug me too much I just fast forward until I come upon someone I am interested in. I was really hoping that E.J. and Nicole were going to hit the sheets together just so I could look forward to watching Sami's brain explode when she finds out.

I would love nothing more than to go along for the ride w/Days, but a good, solid ride which hasn't been the case for a long time. There have always been fans who had their complaints, no matter what, but the viewership was never in such a mess!
It would be much easier to sit back & enjoy Days if there wasn't so much inconsistancy & drivel being done. I would love nothing more than for Days to have a huge following & be what it could/should be, but it is far from that. It doesn't mean that I hate the show, but it IS painful to watch a once intelligent, interesting, compelling soap sink so far.

I love "Days" and I will continue to watch it to the end. Sure some S/L's are stupid and some of the young actors/actress are not quite good yet, but with experience they always improve.
"Love Days"

Message: Thank you Julie, I too have watched since the first episode in 65 and it is a part of my being! My hubby and our 5 sons
are not annoyed about it and it is the only soap I watch..and when vcr's came in, I was no longer tied to the tv, and could go and do things and never miss the show. Through the good and the bad story lines,
it has endured. I wish people would be kinder in criticism because they are sometimes attacking another real person, not the character they portray. Some of them are just so mean about it. I think it's tiring to
hear so much negativity from some , especially when it's always the same hateful stuff about Days..Why do they watch? You can tell from what they write that either they FF or they just watch to gripe about it.
I will love it til the day they cart me outa here !! ( by the way, John & Marlena did have some exciting times and it was not boring..it was romantic) ahhh memories!! lol. Got to go..Days on in 14 min. !! lol

Message: I've been a faithful Days viewer for 15 years, and still tape it every day. Some characters really bug the hell out of me, but that doesn't mean that I don't love the show. Like Daze said - dissing the show is part of the fun! We may not all see eye to eye, but without opinions, this board may not be here!

Message: I have been watching Days for as long as I can remember, and wouldn't go a day without it. Any comments I make are usually tongue in cheek. When Max first came on he was a lively young person who acted with his whole body, emoted with laughter, and his whole face, but lately, since they have been dressing him in dark ugly tee-shirts, his mouth seems to have taken over his whole face. The tongue flicking really bugs me.

Message: Dissing the show when appropriate, is part of the fun. I can't get through a day without my Days tape, I hope it goes on forever. I hope my b*tching would never be misconstrued. I love Days.

Message: I have watched this show for years, it is the only soap I watch now. I watched GH when my aunt was still alive and was the Associate Producer for years. I have had my up and down feelings towards DOOL, but I remain a faithful viewer. I much prefer SL that are realistic and deal with real life issues, rather than the far-fetched SL. However, I am enjoying NU-John (no one would really have all their memories/emotions erased.)

Message: Me. I've been watching pretty much from the beginning. Granted, I quit when JERk got out of hand, only because I "killing off" Mrs. H was too much for me... but I am enjoying it now -- and check out this site less frequently (only because I don't have the time).

I'm a Days fan and have watched for years. Like you, this is "my" show and that gives me the right to voice my opinion about the actors, about the bad story lines, about some very unwise decisions of the owner and head writers. I have the right to voice my opinion when things don't make sense to me. I'm just a little too intelligent to just blindly love everything about this show. I don't like Max and it is only my opinion of his inability to act. Of all the posts I've ever made on this forum, I have NEVER called a fellow poster a bitch. That was a whole lot ruder than any comments I've made about this show.

Message: I have pretty much always watched it because is was bad in a funny way anyhow. I kind of enjoy, for example, how John has traded the big eyebrow lift acting move for the moving the head from side to side while talking acting choice.
