Topic: KATIE WANTS NICK TO DIVORCE BRIDGET AND MARRY HER

You know let's take the whole Bridget brought this on herself angle and move that to the side because I think that of all the people involved here the only one doing any true loving is her of these two train wrecks!

IMO Real love does not do the kinds of things that Katie and Nick did! To say you love someone but can clearly see your way to doing things you know will hurt them is not love - that people think it is love is why love has lost a lot of it's meaning in our current society.

For me love means that you don't do something that will hurt the one you claim to love! It does not mean do whatever the hell you want and then you can just feel bad and sob endless about it while you plot even more pain for your loved one!

Lets call a spade a spade- Katie likes Bridget and she feels indebted to her but she allows herself to Love Bridget's husband and that is where her loyalty is to her own selfish needs!

The writers trying to get me to go along with her and feel 'her' pain is fruitless. She is completely in the wrong for not only doing this but in how she is going cloak and dagger with Nick behind Bridget's back professing her love to him.

But Nick is not without equal blame here - cause he only likes Bridget as well he does not love her and probably never did! Like the song says 'Love should have brought you (Nick) home that night!'

Since neither one of them really love Bridget I wish they would just get off of the whining crap and plot their union out in the bright sunlight. Then Jackie (the never ending harpy) can start in with the 'Oh Nikki, Katie is not the real one for you it's Brooke, yes Brooke is your true destiny! And then here we go again...playing pass the hot (but in this case no hot at all) potato around that is Nick!-Sideout

Hi Outside... I have to say a heartfelt thank you! This has nothing to do with the tv show but about something personal going on in my life that is breaking my heart... Without going into too many details, I just thought to distract myself by coming onto this site and lo and behold, the first entry I read after whoever wrote the original thread, is yours... and what you wrote in your first two paragraphs.... It's funny but I was thinking the same thing for reallife matters and, here, I get to read it from you not a minute or two after I was thinking it myself. It sent a bit of a shock through my body, I must say. It gives me a bit more resolve in my own current issue. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! oh, and, as for what you wrote with regard to these characters... I have been watching intermittently and I have to agree with you.. but, then again, this is a soap that badly needs some drama... Too bad that create it from silly situations instead of making the story lines character-driven... I don't know if you ever watched ANOTHER WORLD (it was the only soap I ever watched consistently) but, if you did, I think you could understand what I mean when I say that they would take this same story line and break your heart as you would be able to see both sides of the story and no one would be cheapened or false and they would so often deal with things in such a way that you would WANT to watch to see how it would play out... I remember how I used to watch it with my mother way back in the last sixties , early seventies... and then, life took over (and of course there were no VCR's let alone dvr's etc. and I only got hooked again in or around 1989, when I was stuck at home convalescing... I started to watch Frankie (my alltime favourite soap opera star with a lot of close seconds) who was married to widower Cass Winthrop... and, then, his supposedly dead wife, the love of his life, came back from the dead. And then she got pregnant but did not want to tell him so that he could make a clear choice of who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with... I tell ya, I was so hooked to see what would happen, that I actually went out and bought a VCR to tape the shows!!! Not one soap opera before nor since , nor specific storyline, got to me as much as that one... So watching ANYTHING on this soap is, well, its too lightweight even for comedy entertainment... It is just something to do, i.e., to have the t.v. on as company, much as one would have a radio on and every once in a while, I'll look up at the t.v. to see what is going on... Usually, it is becuase of my utter disbelief... and apparently, this show is one of the most watched AROUND THE WORLD! go figure!!! SA (EOM)

Why shouldn't Katie want to be with Nick?  If it weren't for dummy Bridget pushing Nick on Katie, knowing darn well that Katie is in love with him, Katie wouldn't be in this position to begin with! 

Honestly, Bridget is THE dumbest person on soaps, so I wouldn't mind if Nick walked out on her AGAIN.  Something needs to wake this bimbo up.

You're right. Bridget really has no one to blame but herself. She should have known better than to push Nick and Katie together regardless of Katie's supposed dying. There are other ways to comfort the dying besides romance and sex. J.

If Katie cared about Bridget and her marriage as much as she claims then she would have left town to have her child and then kept her life separate. She was living elsewhere for years so what diff does it make now? The fact is that her concern is surface and her interest in her own self promotion is deep. Nuff said- Nick is so not worth it for any woman on this show - the fact that they continue to feed the ego if this character is so frickin stupid that it's like flying monkey's are writing this tripe! UGH!

I'd say the difference is the woman had a heart transplant and needs to be followed closely by doctors who specialize in that. Not every place offers that kind of medical care. ~i&b

i&b, I usually agree with you but I am finding Katie just too selfish here. If she is in LA now, both SF and SD have major medical centers where she could be treated. I do understand why she would want to be around her 'loving' family but mostly, she wants to be with Nick. I'm just disgusted with her for betraying Bridget and not respecting Nick's committment to Bridget. J.

Of course Katie wants to be with Nick, anyone would feel that way about the person they're in love with.  But I think at the same time Katie really does love Budge and feels tremendous guilt toward her.  After all, Budge saved her life. The whole point is that Katie is conflicted because the two things she wants the most are mutually-exclusive.

I agree with I&B. Katie truly loves both of them. Nick should have never married the idiot again. That was his biggest mistake.

I agree w/ Zuchinni somewhat...I think Katie feels bad NOW because her shameful secret will get out that she slept with Nick. Where were the tears & guilt BEFORE she found out she was pregnant. If she loved and cared about Bridget as much as she claims, she would never have slept with Nick, dying or not....jmho...-bren
