I have an appointment to see a lawyer today about a possible medical malpractice/negligence suit. I have had the 'Appendectomy from Hell,' that refused to heal for eight months. My ruptured appendix, apparently, infected my hernia mesh, and that prevented my appendectomy wound from healing. I have had to undergo two additional surgeries in recent months. The last one was the complete reconstruction of my abdominal wall and replacement of my hernia mesh. A seven hour long procedure, and six days in the hospital.
This so-called 'appendectomy' took over every aspect of my life, physically, emotionally, financially (losing a part-time job and jeopardizing my full time job).
I am not a vindictive person, but I suffered needlessly and for far too long.
Wish me luck with my consultation this afternoon.

I'm interested to find out what happened, as well. Burst appendix situations are always dangerous. If the appendix burst because they missed a diagnosis, then I can see how you could easily go for a lawsuit. Since it had already burst when you got to the hospital, for all you know, they saved your life, even if it did make for months of complications and discomfort. Had a friend whose appendix ruptured and he was sore for a long time, They had to open him up almost from throat to crotch and wash every organ that was touched by the infectious crud. He said everyone of his organs felt sore because they had actually been handled, moved around, washed, etc. It took him a while to recover as well. He had no idea his appendix had burst, he just thought he was sick and for about 5 days, he languished in his dorm room not knowing how close he was coming to death. It's scary.
Anyway, let us know what the lawyer said.
