Subject: Nice collection, Linny! May I add, ''You're a good man/stand-up guy'' to someone who just committed a crime or betrayed his lover? (Does anyone EVER say, ''You're a good woman'' to a female character?) And, ''I know how important honesty is to you'' - used as a preamble to confessions that are derailed by ''I know exactly what you're going to say.'' (Yeah, right.) Also, ''I never stopped loving you [while I was flaunting my affair in your face/hurling furniture at you]'' and ''I didn't know what love was until I met you [even though I was married for umpteen years off-screen].''

Subject: How could I forget? A hugely cliché phrase is, ''You can tell me anything, and it won't change how I feel about you.'' (Except THAT.) And, ''Nothing you say could make me stop loving you'' - usually followed by, ''I don't even know who you are anymore!'' Also, ''How could you do this to US?'' - another facet of the soap synecdoche, ''part of each other.''

Subject: How could I have omitted the *It's complicated* old standby. I hate that one especially. Excellent additions to the list./MM
