You wonder why they bother. James isn't dead. He will return one day. They've made him into a cartoon. like the whole show. Ridiculous. A son killing a father would be terrible. When the original (or best known young) Paul '''killed'' James many years ago it was a big deal. This wasn't even a cliffhanger. It happened at 2;20. These idiots do not know how to write a soap. Hence., no ratings. Feh.

I couldn't care less whether he is alive or not. I have always felt they should never have resurrected the character of James after Paul shot him the first time.
If they wanted to give Herrera a story why not bring him back as a cousin, not this cartoonish one we see. *He can fly, he can walk through walls, he can kill and be forgiven, he has money to contaminate a farm and might even had hidden gold down there all while in a Thailand prison and this supposedly just to try and make his son just like him* GMAB.
Paul changed his name from Stenbeck to Ryan to get away from his father. Also where was James anger at his other son David's death or his supposedly other son Jordon's disappearance. Plus if James can do all the things we are asked to believe don't you think he would be able to find out where Cabot is too!!!

Message: There were two well known Pauls--Danny Pintauro (who originated the role) & Andrew Kavovit (who played teen & young adult Paul).

Message: I think it could go either way with James. Nobody but the medic checked his pulse and they were probably working for James, but he could also be gone for good. If this is the end of James it was a pretty lousy ending, so I hope we can get to see him one more time. He should go out with a blaze of glory and with a better story. I think were at the end of soap operas anyway and its just nice to see Anthony Herrera anytime.

Message: I predict we will see at least a few scenes of Ghost James as we did briefly yesterday. That idea, of a father coming back to haunt his son, has been used for months on Y&R with Ghost John Abbot materializing so only his son Jack can see him.

I think he could be really dead this time. Although I still don't understand the whole story, I sorta see the ultimate point. Now James can haunt Paul forever.
Here is what I understand: -James wanted Dusty so he could try to make Paul think M&D were having an affair. He wanted Paul to kill Dusty partly cuz Dusty is Gunnar's, and thus a true Stenbeck, and partly just because he wanted to see if Paul could finally fit his definition of a 'man.' Sadly, this is the only part of the story I understand.
I STILL do not understand if the land was really contaminated, or if James rigged the testing. Or maybe Neal actually worked for James?
And did James push Ethan into the hole? Cuz I swear he alluded to being responsible for that, too.

Message: I think this is it for James, and I suspect that the reason that Anthony Hererra agreed to come back was so that James could have an ending. The writers have not been kind to the character these last few visits and I think that it's good to have closure. Now Paul can move on, perhaps to a mental facility and he can return as Scott Holroyd or a reasonable facsimile thereof. Paul does need a mental makeover, and while I'm not fond of Meg's on again/off again love for Paul IMO she should run screaming from him and never let him near her child.
