Additional Comments: I saw it in the previews. What is the point of that? Are they going to make it so Luke and Noah can't be together?

If there was a need to ''adopt'' Noah, then since Luke is an adult himself, he could have done it. There were cases of that happening especially back in the 80s prior to the move for civil unions, domestic partnerships, etc. when gays needed a legal remedy to make their partner their heir, or create a family relationship so that other civil matters such as health care decisions could be made.

Message: How would this prevent them from being together? The main reason for that applying to brothers/sisters is biology & these two were a couple for a long time before this came up. They weren't raised as siblings, they were a 'romantic' couple (I use the term loosely) long before even a discussion of adoption came up. IRL we've seen adoptive siblings marry, because they weren't biologically related & in most of those cases, they also weren't raised as siblings.
