With the current quagmire, vortex and quicksand that is sucking all four of the lovers into a downward spiral, I suggest the path of least resistance: Let Carly hook up with Dusty and Janet can have Jack.
Carly and Dusty haven't slept together, and it has become increasingly difficult to find any two people of the opposite sex {who aren't blood related} who have NOT slept together. Voila! We have novelty, and something new is better than something borrowed or blue. Carly needs permanent 'rescuing' from alcohol to stay sober; hence, Dusty can wear his knight's armor and save the day. They are both smart and have a dry sense of humor. And get this---Carly once thought she would be raising little 'Rory' for Rosanna [who we now know is Johnny, Dusty and the late St. Jennifer's child], so Carly would have her 'son' back that she lost.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that hypocritical Jack and Janet deserve each other. They are both selfish although they hide behind a mask of selflessness. They are both emotionally immature. They both subscribe to the 'end justifies the means' philosophy.

Years ago, I would have liked to see a relationship between Carly and Dusty. When he hired her to work at Street Jeans, I first noticed their chemistry. Too much time has passed, and too many things have happened since then, and I no longer feel the same. I've always preferred Dusty with Bonnie. In fact, during their brief relationship was the only time I actually enjoyed him. I'd rather see her somehow come back, and Dusty decide he'd rather be with her. As for Jack and Carly, I wouldn't mind seeing them reunite. I would very much like to see Janet end up alone.
