Topic: Duller than Dishwater.

Additional Comments:

Even with the return of James Stenbeck and Dusty rising from the grave I'm still finding the show duller than dishwater. There is absolutely nothing happening that is of any interest to me.

It's amazing how JP can churn out these fantastical plot twists and still make them as exciting as watching paint dry.

What is keeping your interest these days with As the World Turns?

Many times throughout the years we have had sour periods due to lousy storytelling. Lately, though, we've had more than enough poorly written, ill devised, fast paced stories that make little sense and hold no interest. What lifts me through these uninteresting times, are the wonderful actors performing on the show. I tend to blank out the ridiculous stories and pay attention to:

How beautiful CZP is
How wonderful an actress Maura is
How wonderful it is to finally see BOB
How pretty the sets are adorned
How shiney and clean Janet's hair is (forgot the actressess' name)
How Meg mumbles and I can't understand a word she's saying
How handsome Jon is and isn't KMH just so beautiful
How white Terri's teeth are
Which actor smiles a REAL smile and not a theatrical one

well, you get the picture. There's tons to hold my interest.

It seems like just a few short weeks ago, I was truly enjoying this soap.  I was enjoying Luke and Noah, Katie and Brad, Casey and Emily, Meg and Paul, the trios of Carly/Lily/Holden and Janet/Carly/Jack.    I was even enjoying Allison and Aaron.  But now, I agree things have gone from good to bad.  Beginning with the totally inane crap with James and Meg/Paul.  I don't mind James' return, but does it have to be thew same old story of his obsessive baby stealing crap.  Its a terribly written story and its so repetitive that its not worth watching for the 100th time.  Now they want to throw in the return of Dusty which in my opinion doesn't help.  I rather get back to romance and more real like stories involving husbands, wives and lovers.  Spare me this cartoonish James fiasco.

I still watch and enjoy...some days more than others. But even after watching for decades, when the day comes that I don't like anyone or any storylines, I just will not watch. Period. I watched General Hospital for twenty years, and then suddenly I decided I didn't like all the mob storylines so after a Friday's episode I never looked back. Frankly, I don't understand all the people here who hate this show so much and keep watching. Probably going to ruffle some feathers here...but, oh well, it's how I feel.

I watch out of a lifetime habit; and the occasional jewel of a performance by the excellent cast.  Jack's scene's with Paul for example.  The few gems with James and Barbara.  Carly can usually even make that drivel that she's been saying lately sound good when played beautifully by Maura West. I used to enjoy Trent Dawson (Henry).  Marnie Schulenberg (Alison).  A few others.  But you're right, the SLs are pretty bad right now.

LOL!!  When I read your subject title I just assumed you were talking about Mr. & Mrs. FarmDull...a.k.a. Holden and Lily.
