Additional Comments: ...Will someone please SHUT LUKE THE HECK UP! Every time he opens his mouth I want to shove a sock in it. Luke has become the biggest shrew on this show.

Here's a clue bright boy....If you don't like or don't trust Brian....FIRE HIM! Why keep him around just so you can whine about him? Oh, you keep him around SO you can whine about something...got it!

Luke's whining comes from his inner instincts. He fiercely mistrusts Brian but doesn't know exactly WHY. Brian, it seems, sends out mixed signals to everyone involved, including dear old Lucy. Last week, during that touchy feely scene between Luke and Noah, Brian appeared to be jealous of their open relationship. Not shocked, but jealous. That's why me thinks Brian is still in the closet. Ergo Luke's keen senses, being so finely tuned as they are, have been picking up something unexplainable. And like his mom, true to his nature, he whines. He's getting to be a pain in the you know what with his constant whining. The kid is a stomach turner. What a shame.

  • I wouldn't be at all suprised if Brian turned out to be gay.
  • Brian's looks are those of envy, and he'd like Noah for himself!
  • That's what I'm afraid of. Another psycho love drama along the lines of Julia Lindsey and Julia Larabee.
  • oH...don't get me wrong...I am sure Brian is up to something. I simply do not care and Luke's whining makes me care even less. eom Linny

What irks me is Lucinda acting like a giddy schoolgirl around this obvious con artist.  Of course she's lonely and long overdue for some male attention, but our Lucinda is no sucker.  I refuse to believe her radar is EVER turned off.

  • Our wonderful older strong women are very easily sacrificed! Like they did to Alexandra Spaulding, when she married an Australian con-artist 30 years younger than she is, to help him get his green card, and thought he was going to fall for her. It's just ridiculous! fee

I am amazed at how far this show will go to squander the opportunities to write a good sl for Nuke.  This Brian Wheaties sl is just another way to distract us from the lack of sex that nuke are having.

One day this show will realize that they took a popular, original sl  and blew it, so to speak, by coming up with dumbass plots that only fanatical nuke fans would endure with enthusiasm.

Jake's not leaving the show, but I wouldn't blame him if he did, and  I feel bad for the actor who plays Luke who is contracturally bound to play this ish.  I hope he's out there auditioning for other, more rewarding work.

I think Luke is doing the right thing and is justified. Lucinda isn't firing him because she has a crush on Brian. Why would Lucinda put Brian over her own family? Luke is putting his life on hold to keep an eye on Brian and look out for Lucinda.

  • (1) Lucinda is a grown woman who has managed to live two generations longer than Luke without his meddling; (2) I am sure that Brian is up to something...in fact I would bet Emma's farm on it.; and (3) not withstanding (1) and (2), Luke's attitude and harpy/snarky voice are making me simply not give a hoot what this guy is up to. In fact, it makes me think that Luke AND Lucinda probably deserve what is coming to them if they never checked out this guy's resume and referrences BEFORE the had him sign a contract that is apparently iron clad to manage Luke's ''fortune.'' IMO this is a silly non-issue about at least one rich idiot whining over something that could have been avoided if the idiot had had half a brain in the first place. And know he's jumping to ridiculous conclusions based on equally ridiculous premesis (sp?). Brian says he needs the money because he quit his job in order to take this one Idiotic Conclusion: Brian must be trying to steal Lucinda's money by agreeing to manage Luke's foundation funded by money that has nothing to do with Lucinda. References that I call after hours aren't immediately returning phone calls for an employee that has already been hired without first calling said referencese Idiotic Conclusion: Said references must be shady. How Luke can jump to these stupid conclusions based on his idiotic ''clues'' is beyond me. And maybe if he's so suspicious he might be smart enough to act as though nothing is wrong so that he can quitely investigate this swindler. Here's a thought....HIRE A PI (Lily is sure to help Luke out with that one). eom Linny

Didn't you just FOTFL when Luke concluded Brian's references must be bogus, because they didn't immediately call him back? Obviously, they didn't know Prince Poopy Pants was honoring them by calling in the first place. *rme*

Luke is an idiot. But of course, because he's Prince PP, he'll be "right" and become even more obnoxious than he is now.

  • LOL, gallyn, Luke is the new PPP! HAHA! Roxie
  • Because when I call NPO's after 5:00, I always get someone to answer the phone...RME. I work for an NPO and believe me, I get chased out of the building AT 5:30...like clockwork...and I WANT TO STAY AND WORK LATE. eom Linny
  • gallyn, if there's a prize you should get it today for PrincePoopyPants. Love it! eom/D

Luke lost me when he jumped on Brian's "admission" that he actually needed the salary from his job in order to live as proof that the guy must have some nefarious plan to go after Lucinda's money.

Earth to Luke, most people need to work for a living and they need the money they get paid to deal with pesky little things like housing and food.

  • Happy, that floored me. Luke thought that Brian would happily work for free? Sometimes the privileged really sound like jerks. eom Linny

This SL certainly SEEMS predictable.  Wouldn't it be nice to be surprised and have Brian turn out to be a good guy (not that I think he is) and find that Luke is just a petulant spoiled paranoid brat.

I can already tell this storyline is going to suck. Ten bucks says that Brian will be a bad guy, and he'll end up stalking Lucinda and then big bad Margo will come and arrest him and that will be the end of it. There was all this hype about Lucinda getting a love interest, but he probably won't even be that. And you're right Linny, all Luke does is whine whine whine.

I don't see how Brian was being homophobic, though. All he was saying to Luke was to watch out.. yeah, he should have said it in better words, but it's the truth.. REAL homophobs will attack him. Luke is just so BLAH he takes EVERYTHING personal! I wish he were more laid back like Noah.

I don't care if Brian did sign a contract....knowing Lucinda, somewhere in there is an "escape clause" with a buy-out.  My big problem is that, while Brian could have been more sensitive, he did make a valid point.  I can't speak for the "philanthropic world", but let's face it, people all over the country are NOT ready to be accepting of openly gay people (much less donate money to their cause...no matter how worthy it is).  All he was saying was that to increase donations to the foundation, it might behoove Luke to keep his private life....private!  I don't know if Brian has an agenda or not, but I seriously doubt he's a homophobe.  I think he was just giving practical business advice.  And Luke just went ape sh*t over it....um, dude, the time to check references was long before you hired him!

Here's a clue to you, Linny. Luke wanted to fire him but Lucinda told him Brian already signed a contract.
I bet in the end Luke's suspicions will be justified.

  • LOL! Well, you got me there. I was so mind-numbingly bored by Luke's incessant b!tching about everything under the sun that I have ff just about every scene with him in it, including that scene. But if you say that this is the case then I find Luke even more of a whiny baby than before. So Lucinda is too stupid to demand a 6 month trial period? The contract is iron-clad? Luke didn't bother checking this guy's references BEFORE he offerred him an iron-clad employment contract? Well, then I can see where Luke is ready for the responsibility of creating a foundation...LOL! eom Linny
  • Lucinda highly recommeded Brian. If anyone's to blame it's Lucinda. Luke is just looking out for her.
