Subject: I'm not impressed either. Considering that McCain is 72 (and looks and acts much older), I was very concerned about who his VP pick would be. I think this woman's lack of experience is alarming (unless I'm missing something). It seems like a transparent apparent to grab Hillary Clinton's supporters. -Miss H

Subject: That's exactly it. I just heard a conservative commentator saying Palin was not on McCain's radar until just the last few days. The implication is that McLame made an impulsive pick at the last minute. Despite the spin being put out by the Republican machine, a lot of rank and file conservatives are NOT happy. ~i&b

Subject: i&b, in that article in the link Kenera put up, the reporter said the only reason he would pick her was if he thought he was losing and this would put him in good with evangelicals and get her some Hillary votes. He thinks it was a very last minute choice and McCain barely knew her. They're saying the Evangelicals are ecstatic now. Isn't that strange that they didn't care for him but now that he's chosen her they're all for him. How does it change him? He's the one running for president. / Vivian
