Topic: We all make sacrifices.....

Additional Comments:

And I, for one, am just awed at our Commander In Chief's sacrifice.  The man gave up GOLF out of respect for the families of soldiers fighting our (pointless) war in the Middle East.  And this isn't just some measly 40-day sacrifice for Lent.  W hasn't golfed since 2003!!!!

This really makes me feel like a horrible person.  I haven't given up ANYTHING meaningless out of respect for the troops and their families.

Excuse me, He gave up golf?? Thousands of people have been killed and injured in war and he gave up golf?? If I had a golf club, I would hit the ball into "....." you know where it hurts. Good grief.

  • See??? This is what I'm saying. What a HUGE sacrifice on his part, huh? Especially compared the the ultimate sacrifice so many of these soldiers have given! I wonder if he gave up cocaine for victims of the Cold War? LOL! --susie

Keith Olbermann just did a 10-minute rant on him about that interview.  There was a lot more to it than just his giving up golf.  It was all about him taking us into the war under false pretenses.  He ripped him up one side and down the other…probably worse than he’s ever ripped up anyone.    Then, at the end he showed Bush playing golf on October 13, 2003.  That was after the date he said he gave it up.  Olbermann is repeated at 10PM, I think, in case anyone wants to see it.  It’s in the last 10 minutes of his show.

  • Is it safe to assume that you watched Jon Stewart interview Douglas Feith (Bush's former Undersecretary of Defense) on The Daily Show. Same thing! I really wished they weren't so pressed for time and I know the full interview is available online, but Jon (my love!) was NOT backing down on the false pretenses issue! --susie
  • No, I’ll have to watch it online. There are so many things going on I can’t keep up with all of them. / Vivian

The WORST part of this? That his handlers had to TELL him to quit golf!! The Main Stream Media didn't complete the whole story in my newspaper - but thankfully the whole thing is available on the "internets" - and Dumbo said he was "pulled off the golf course" and THEN said it just wasn't worth it anymore......How long oh lord how long......

  • Only 250 days!!!! When I first got my Bush Countdown Clock keychain, we were still in the 800-day range. (click inside for link) I hadn't heard it was Bush's handlers' idea! I love how they call them ''handlers.'' It's like he's a circus elephant or something. And clearly he has more in common with a circus elephant than a reputable president. --susie
  • Funny! thanks for the link - I think I need one of those/summer

If he wanted to help the country/or showed respect for our troops......... by giving up something...she should have given up the Office of the Presidency......that would have been a sacrifice we ALL would have been able to enjoy!
