Additional Comments: He said Palin got more votes when she ran for mayor than Biden got running for President. Evidently he didn’t do his homework and he thought we’d take him at his word.
This is exactly what Palin got in all three of her races. I looked it up last night. In 2006 the total votes cast for governor was 206,232. She won by 49%, which was a total of 103,053 votes. In 1996 Palin won mayor of Wasilla by 616 to 413. In 1999 she won mayor, by an 826 to 235 margin. Joe got a lot more than that.

Message: Add that to the list of other delusions the right wingers have been tossing around all week, such as that Palin has ''more experience'' than Obama and Biden combined (if that were the case then she has more experience than John McCain, too, though somehow I think he'd take exception to that statement).

How do you figure that? - Jamie
Because, Jamie, McCain has never run a city or a state either; ergo, he has no executive experience. eom/CaroleA
I think it is fair/fact to say that McCain has more experience than all. - Jamie
Lieberman had a few white lies last night as well. They must think if they say it some will believe it even when proven false. Didn't like Palin's sarcasm. She has an odd smile each time she took a shot at Obama - not attractive at all. eom/WE
W.E., their audience will believe them, (that’s who they want) because let’s face it they aren’t known for looking things up for themselves. They’ll believe anything they tell them. I’m not sure if the Independents do any research or if they will believe it too. At least now, we have lots of places that catch them on all their lies, and we know Obama and Biden will bring them all up. They won’t sit back like Kerry did. / Vivian
I loved afterward when Chris Mathews quoted Palin about being with her H.S. beau and after 20 years he's still her guy. He went on to say that's a first for a VP candidate until Keith Olberman said we'll have to look that up (to see what Geraldine Ferraro said) . I don't recall but I'm sure both ladies will be compared. eom/WE
Well, Joe Biden has been a US Senator since 1973, and John McCain served two terms in the US House beginning in 1982 before he became a US Senator. Since we found out 4 years ago that military service does not count even when you win a Purple Heart (rmember when the the GOP convention was full of people who wore band-aids that looked like purple hearts?), then it seems like Sarah Palin has the most experience with her Governor experience and should really be at the top of the ticket. Vivian I know a few independents and they are for Obama. Oh yes they do their homework at least the ones I know do. They don't believe the spoon fed stuff like the conservatives do/PJ
Well, PJ, let's hope all Independents are like that, but I won't hold my breath. / Vivian
The Repubs keep spouting the same old stuff....Dems just want to raise taxes, (our country is in debt up to it's ears, sooner or later SOMEBODY'S going to have to pay), The Repubs. keep us 'safe'...(9/11 happened under Bush and there's facts that suggest he ignored Clinton's warnings in Aug. of that year), the dems just want regulations (how about all the social regs. the Repubs want us to live under and the housing and banking mess are because of Reagan's deregulation movement). Can't people SEE that things are NOT good in this country? What's the problem with at least trying out another party? McCain promises the same old same old. Elaine
Jamie, I agree with you. McCain has a lot more experience than Obama but I don't agree with his stance on the major issues nor on his political philosophies. I don't think it's always a matter of going with the most experienced candidate as long as the other has enough experience, which I think Obama has. I also think his judgment is superior to McCain's and that's a lot of the job right there. ~i&b
McCain certainly does have executive experience. He has made decisions that affected the life or death of his men. He has commanded men in war and had to make quick decisions. What decisions has Barak or Joe ever made that was their decision alone, other than to be a part of the Dem machine and raise taxes. Well, I forgot,Barkak just voted present most of the time. I guess that is his decision making.
Maybe it's a matter of semantics then and what you consider to be ''executive'' but a military officer is not generally considered to be in the executive branch of government. ~i&b
McCain made decisions 40 some years ago. He's dangerously doddering now, and not capable. Haven’t you noticed it when he talks? / Vivian
Today he was feeble and shaking as he stood behind Palin. It was uncomfortable to watch. eom/Hm
