I've mentioned this before, but the scene in "Sophie's Choice", when Sophie is forced to chose which of her children will live or die, haunts me. The look on Sophie's face as the Nazi takes her daughter away, the little girl screaming for her mother, it's too much. Meryl Streep so deserved her Oscar for that performance.

My mother is a lover of old time musicals. "West Side Story" and "An American in Paris" are among her favorites.

Looks, attire, and attitude, my dear mother is a dead ringer for Marie Barrone from "Everybody Loves Raymond". The only difference is, she nags me, her daughter, instead of a DIL. LOL, she's a great lady though.

Although my mom loved Everybody Loves Raymond I just realized my mom is more like Betty White. Just saw her on TV and she always reminds me of me mommy (add red hair, lol) .eom./WE

NAME A HAPPY OR SAD SCENE BETWEEN A MOTHER AND HER CHILD THAT AFFECTED YOU.  The scene where his mother is told of the death of Trevor McKinny (Haley Joel Osment) in Pay It Forward.  Helen Hunt just crumples to the floor in anguish and disbelief.  Her son was happy and healthy, and helpfully got involved in a fight protecting another boy ... he was stabbed ... and then he was gone ... it happened so quickly, and so finally.  It is a horrific thought for any parent to contemplate.

IS THERE A CHARACTER IN A TV SHOW OR MOVIE THAT REMINDS YOU OF YOUR MOTHER?  Jessica Fletcher of Murder She Wrote ... not that my mom is a sleuth (though she's had her moments!), but she is smart, funny, down to earth, resourceful, filled with common sense and adventure, kind, considerate and thoughtful.

That scene from Pay it Forward is intense. Dr Zhivago is one of my favorite movies, it's long, but beautiful. Mary Poppins would be a great mom, so would Maria Von Trapp, LOL, maybe it's a Julie Andrew's thing, take care~amie

WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR MOTHER'S FAVORITE TV SHOWS, MOVIES, OR SONGS?   She loved "I Love Lucy"  I remember her sitting in there in her chair in the living room ...just cracking up over the antics of Lucy.

IS THERE A CHARACTER IN A TV SHOW OR MOVIE THAT REMINDS YOU OF YOUR MOTHER?  NO...she was truly one of a kind!  She had a horrendous childhood, but held no bitterness against her mother, to this day...even tho my darling mother has been gone for almost 24 years, I think of how kind she was to her mother, and all the things she did for her.  My mother was truly a very loving..forgiving person.

She likes all the political shows now. She watches a ton of movies too. I think *Masterpiece Theater* is her favorite *series*. I got her interested in *The Office* and she likes that. She also likes to watch sports with Dad. Specifically golf, NFL (the Panthers), some basketball, and some races.

Well, take a guess.......Mama Gump reminds me of my mom. She looks kind of like Sally Field does in the movie but a little less cartoonish. She's southern, but not redneck, and much smarter than she leads on. I guess that's why Mama Gump made my answers above.

WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR MOTHER'S FAVORITE TV SHOWS, MOVIES, OR SONGS? I just saw the concert version of Camelot which includes the song dad always sang to mom...If Ever I Would Leave You!

Yipeeeeee, W.E's back! Stepmom, IMO, was a good film even though it wasn't well received, I enjoyed it, but I always enjoy Susan Sarandon, that scene got to me too~amie

Nancy Walker was great as Rhoda's mother! I'm glad that Anna is back on GH, she and Robin are so believable as mother and daughter. Robin needs her now, so I hope TPTB keep Anna around~amie
