Good Afternoon! Things are slow at the office today.  I work part time (3 days a week) so my time at the office is precious.  And of course that is the reason I am filling out this questionnaire!

 1) With a new season of your favorite shows returning & soaps... I know sometimes we can find out certain things that happens on shows before it airs...(like who gets killed off, recasts, etc...)..would you rather  find out what happens before each show or would you rather be suprised?

I would rather not find out any scoops at all, but with technology and the media the way it is today, it is virtually impossible to do so.

(2) What was the last expensive item you bought? was it worth it?

I can't remember if it was the A/C or my husbands Dodge Truck.  The A/C was DEFINITELY worth every single penny!!  I don't driv the truck very often, but my husband loves his truck and I wanted him to have the "perfect" vehicle, so in that sense it was worth it.

(3) Do you enjoy when celebrities speak out about the upcoming election?

Not at all. It baffles me that they think we care about their opinion more than we would any other citizen.

(4) Labor day weekend is next weekend..any plans? Did you enjoy your summer? Did you do everything you wanted to do?

Labor Day Wknd: making our first road trip with the newest addition to our family (a 6-7 hr drive) so that will be interesting. I enjoyed the summer, though it went too fast. I did not get everything done I wanted to do, but that's okay. I am REALLY looking forward to fall - my favorite time of year!

(5) Did you ever do your grocery shopping online? If so, would you do it again?

Never done it. I enjoy going to the market.

Good morning everyone!

(1) With a new season of your favorite shows returning & soaps... I know sometimes we can find out certain things that happens on shows before it airs...(like who gets killed off, recasts, etc...)..would you rather  find out what happens before each show or would you rather be suprised?  I don't mind reading spoilers.  Sometimes, if not too much detail is given, they can make me look forward to an episode.

(2) What was the last expensive item you bought? was it worth it?  We just got Robert a 2006 Hyundai Elantra.  I hope it was worth it.

(3) Do you enjoy when celebrities speak out about the upcoming election?  No but I don't mind when they do.  It doesn't influence me one way or the other.

(4) Labor day weekend is next weekend..any plans? Did you enjoy your summer? Did you do everything you wanted to do?  No plans yet.  Martin was off this past week but got sick, so our plans for day trips, eating out and doing some chores were shot.   Overall the summer wasn't bad.  I never get to do everything I plan and I've learned that it isn't worth getting upset about it.

(5) Did you ever do your grocery shopping online? If so, would you do it again? No.  I like comparing prices and checking fruit/veggies and fish before I buy it.

Thanks for the questions.  Have a great day all!

  • izi...I hope Martin feels better...My sister loves the Hyundai Elantra..good luck with your new car.../Angela
  • I'm glad people are saying good things about the Hyundai. Thanks for the well wishes. I just spoke to Martin, he sounds horse and tired. He'll be OK but he's down about missing the concert. izi
  • izi, my sister has a 2001 and 2006 Elantra both still in great shape. Bob had a 2005 Elantra and we traded that in for the 2005 Santa Fe last summer. He now has a 2008 Accent. We love them all... great on gas and the price is so affordable. They make nice cars. - kris
  • what concert - just curious. Hope he feels better soon. Sorry it ruined your plans for the week :( - Kris
  • Congrats to Robert! I'm sure he'll love his Hyundai. valleydaughter has a Hyundai Tiburon and adores it. I'm sorry to hear Martin has been ill during his vacation. Wishing him well. I, too, am curious as to which concert you had planned on attending, and am sorry you had to miss it. :-( ...valleygirl
  • Thanks vg. It's good to know that so many people say it's a good car. Kris and anyone else who may be interested I posted a seperate topic about the concert ticket. izi

I'd rather be suprised, but when one visits this site it is hard not to peek.

     (2) What was the last expensive item you bought? was it worth it?

A new driver (golf club). Worth it? Yes and no. I don't hit much better than the old one, but the old one was broken so it needed replacing.

    (3) Do you enjoy when celebrities speak out about the upcoming election?

    No, either side.

    (4) Labor day weekend is next weekend..any plans? No Did you enjoy your summer? Ehhhh! Did you do everything you wanted to do?  No

    (5) Did you ever do your grocery shopping online? If so, would you do it again? I make my list online using the website and then go to the store. Food and clothing are things I want to see in person.

I already saw ads for Dirty Sexy Money all over the train the other day, but can't remember where that left off, it'll be good to see it again tho...  I just read this morning Survivor premiere's 9/18 and its 2 HOURS!  love that!  can't wait.

    (2) What was the last expensive item you bought? was it worth it?  I haven't bought any big ticket items in ages... I guess my Santa Fe last July - and that was SO WORTH IT!  still love my car... just got back from camping this past weekend, filled up before we left, got home, 150 miles and it used only a 1/4 tank of gas... Hyundai makes a good on gas car!  We've had 3 of them and all are great on gas!

    (3) Do you enjoy when celebrities speak out about the upcoming election?  could care less

    (4) Labor day weekend is next weekend..any plans?  just hanging out playing it by ear.  Did you enjoy your summer? I enjoyed getting back to work and a paycheck... but I missed a real 'vacation' so this past weekend camping was special... Did you do everything you wanted to do?  of course not... I want a real 7-10 day vacation... but not eligible until February!  LOL  I am really over the hot weather and AC... last night I had the windows open, the curtains were blowing in the breeze, loved it... slept good last night!

    (5) Did you ever do your grocery shopping online? If so, would you do it again?  not a chance in hel l.... I will always go in person.

Thanks for the questions Angela... enjoy the last week of summer!

  • krisa225..I love camping..We used to go all the time.. We had such a fun time. I think a few more years & I will be ready to go. Vin is still alittle young..I run after him at home..I just can't see hubby & I running after him in the woods...LOL .../Angela
  • Hi Kris, good to know that you're happy with your Hyundai. One of the reasons we started looking at their cars was because of their fuel efficiency rating. izi
  • Hyundai won't disappoint! I forgot to add I had one the first year they came out 21 years ago too! nothing bad to say about them. Good luck! - kris
  • our camping friends just had a baby this Saturday morning (I toasted them w/ smores) so they won't be bringing the baby along for a couple years either. She said they'd get a babysitter next summer. I grew up camping from tents to a 20' trailer and now back to a tent... Bob won't have anything to do w/ a trailer unfortunately so I make the best of the tent and outdoor kitchen as long as I'm covered. I do love it! - kris and weather was PERFECT this weekend. - kris
  • Raising a s'more to the future camper! I hope you get another camping trip or two in before it turns cold. Our Vue is doing better on fuel efficiency since we've broken it in, but your SF definitely has us beat. We've had the windows open the last 2 nights and it is wonderful! ...valleygirl

     (2) What was the last expensive item you bought? was it worth it? My husband just bought me a 32" flat screen plasma t.v. for my office (and work out room) for my birthday (today.)  I love it.  Yes, it was definately worth it.

    (3) Do you enjoy when celebrities speak out about the upcoming election? No.  I have no idea why their opinion would mean anything to anyone.

    (4) Labor day weekend is next weekend..any plans? Did you enjoy your summer? Did you do everything you wanted to do?  Not really any set plans.  A baseball game with hubby, and hopefully a last good day at the beach.  My summer was rather stressful.  My son moved back in with us and doesnt appear to have any plans to leave and it is causing a lot of friction.

    (5) Did you ever do your grocery shopping online? If so, would you do it again?  It depends on what you mean online.  Our local Farm Fresh offers a delivery option.  You pick out all of the items that you want and schedule a delivery time window.  It did it several times (it was worth it) and the food was always fresh and the deliveries were always on time.  My husband wouldn't put up with it now (the delivery charge).....so I guess he can just go do the shopping for me!

Good morning all and Happy Tuesday!  My girls really enjoyed their first day back at school yesterday.  Let's just hope it stays that way!  LOL  Ally is missing her Marine.....but there were only a few tears last night so I think she will be able to make it thru.......7 months is a long time for a 17 yr old.......keep her and him in your prayers!

I know sometimes we can find out certain things that happens on shows before it airs...(like who gets killed off, recasts, etc...)..would you rather  find out what happens before each show or would you rather be suprised?  I would rather be surprised....but human nature usually takes over and I try to find out information before hand!  LOL

    (2) What was the last expensive item you bought? was it worth it?  The last really expensive thing I bought was a new refridgerator....and yes it was definitely worth it!

    (3) Do you enjoy when celebrities speak out about the upcoming election? I don't mind if they give their opinions but I wouldn't say that I enjoy it.....it really doesn't matter to me what a celebrity thinks....sometimes you just have to consider the source....

    (4) Labor day weekend is next weekend..any plans? Did you enjoy your summer? Did you do everything you wanted to do?  Actually, yes, me, Ashley and Ally and my parents are spending the weekend in NYC!!  We are doing a bus/shopping trip on Friday and will return Monday.  I've done these trips 2 other times and they are fun, but we usually do them in November.  The last time I was in NYC was in late August just before 9-11.  Yes, I did enjoy the summer and yes we did everything we wanted.....but it was WAY too short!

    (5) Did you ever do your grocery shopping online? If so, would you do it again? No, I never have and I don't think I would.  I've never really thought about doing that.......

Well, we are supposed to get RAIN here today......I'm not even sure I remember what it looks like!  LOL  Wish us luck!!  Have a FANTABULOUS day!

I'm here all week!)

    (2) What was the last expensive item you bought?  I bought this, oh, about 3 hours ago ...    a black 2004 Sunfire.  I pick it up on Friday.  My 14 year old van is on it's last legs, and I need a little town car.  Was it worth it?  I'm sure it will be ... I got a good deal!

    (3) Do you enjoy when celebrities speak out about the upcoming election?  Nope

    (4) Labor day weekend is next weekend..any plans?  We'll either go camping with our granddaughter's again, or start on our bathroom renovation.  The weather will be the deciding factor. Did you enjoy your summer?  Very much so. Did you do everything you wanted to do?  There is just never enough time to do everything, but we did get most of what we had planned done.  valleyguy has an extended layoff looming, so we've got time to get more done!

    (5) Did you ever do your grocery shopping online? If so, would you do it again?  No, and I enjoy grocery shopping too much to do it online.  I like to see, smell and touch.

    Thanks, Angela!

  • Try working in a grocery store. You'll get sick of that sight and smell. I smell like fried chicken everyday when I come home. My cats love it!
  • I had a 1996 Sunfire that I bought brand new and I drove it up until last month when we traded it in on Ally's new Cobalt. It was absolutely the BEST car I have ever had....EVER!! We never really had to do anything to it except a new air compressor for the AC right after it tripped 100,000 miles and at about 110,000 we had to put in a new transmission (it was a 5 speed) and I think that was probably understandable after that many years/miles. Of course we had to do tires and I think we only put 1 battery in it over the whole 12 years, and a water pump a few years back.....but nothing else.......We traded it last month and it had 128,000 miles. GOOD little car....EXCELLENT gas mileage.....and the only reason we traded it was because my mother just bought me a new Jetta back in November and she bought Ally the 08 Cobalt and I didn't need another car so I just traded it in. Also, didn' t want to pay the Insurance for my car, her car, hubby's 2 vehicles and boat AND the Sunfire......LOL Enjoy your Sunfire! I really think you will!! ~A&A's Mom
  • That's exactly what I want to hear, A&A's Mom! I am sure I chose well. A friend has a 2002 and has enjoyed it, with little trouble, so her daughter bought a 2004. I test drove a few different cars, but as soon as I sat in this and hit the road, I knew it was mine. It's such fun to drive, and has loads of zip! I hope I have as long and as good an experience with mine as you did yours! ...valleygirl
  • LOL Miss.Bear ... I think I'll stick with my weekly plus visits! ...valleygirl
  • I hope you do too vg....I really think you will! We tried to get Ally to get an 08 Sunfire, but she had her heart set on the Cobalt.....I just wish she'd have gotten the Sunfire.......:) Enjoy! ~A&A's Mom
  • Congrats on your car! Sorry about the layoff but at least you know it's coming and can be ready. ~i&b
  • congrulations on the new car! have fun driving around town over the weekend! - Kris
  • valleygirl...What a beauitufl car. I have a Windstar and i would love to trade it in for a smaller car. Hubby drives a Honda Pilot which is for long drives. I want something easy on gas & easier to get around. /Angela
  • vg, congrats and good luck with your new car. If I could I'd throw some loose change in it! izi
  • Thanks, everyone! I'm sure I shall enjoy it! Zip, zip! ...valleygirl

For most storylines, I don't really care.  But for the ones that really grab me, I'd rather not know what will happen before I watch.

    (2) What was the last expensive item you bought? was it worth it?

The last BIG thing we bought was new windows for the house.  We bought top of the line windows and yes, they are worth it.  We should never have to replace them again.

    (3) Do you enjoy when celebrities speak out about the upcoming election?

Just like with any regular person, if they have an informed opinion I'll listen.  But if you're talking about Ben Stein saying what a ''sweet person'' his ''good friend'' the ''misunderstood'' Karl Rove is, listening to him is not worth the nausea.

    (4) Labor day weekend is next weekend..any plans? Air show, working on home improvement projects, and entertaining out of town guests.   Fortunately, I have both Friday and Monday off.   Did you enjoy your summer? Of course.  Did you do everything you wanted to do?  Not even close, too many home improvement projects prevented us from getting out as much as usual.  Summer flew by.

    (5) Did you ever do your grocery shopping online? If so, would you do it again? No, I'd rather shop in the store where I can read the labels and check the dates.

  • We just moved into my grandparents house back in April and whenever I sell my other house, we are getting replacement windows for this house. I had them in my other house and I love them! I like the fact that they tilt in to clean! Hopefully we will sell it soon because I really want to do the windows and put on some vinyl siding BEFORE winter! ~A&A's Mom
  • I wish our windows tilted to clean but because of the age and style of the house we had to go with casement windows. BTW, be careful about using vinyl siding. I know some people who got into serious moisture and mold issues because their house couldn't ''breathe'' after they installed vinyl siding. ~i&b
  • Yeah, I've heard about that too....my sister is one of those people.....the kind we are looking at (my uncle is a contractor and will be doing it) has a strange type of insulation or whatever it is between the stucco and the siding and also the siding has 'air holes' or something to that effect.....my sister's house has this green mold on one side that they can not get rid of! That would suck! Thanks! ~A&A's Mom
  • ingyandbert..we had new windows put in..what a difference it makes./Angela
