Hello and Welcome to the Weekend Topic.

Thanks for stopping by. We love having you.

Thanks too for being considerate about last week's lack of questions. As I've mentioned before, my old department at work was completely eliminated. The jobs went mostly to India with a couple going to Brazil. I transferred to another department. It's the worst decision I've made in quite a while. The job is with my old boss so it's not like I went there blindly. I won't bore you with the details but to give you some idea of its affect on me, there are times that I cry all the way home, not to mention a couple of times during work itself. Crying is something I NEVER, EVER want to do at work but sometimes when you're being ganged up upon and with the unfairness of it all, it's an uncontrollable reaction. But hey, you guys don't want hear that stuff. It's the weekend and that means you're coming down to the Weekend Topic. We're having ourselves an early Thanksgiving dinner or a late one for our northern friends (yes, that means you, v.g.). Here's this week's questions. You know the drill.

- Which 'Golden Girl' do you most closely resemble: Blanche (sexy), Rose (sweet, naive), Dorothy (dry, bitter) or Sophia (sarcastic)?
- If you could buy 'sense of humor', who would you inject?
- What don't you like about your apartment/condo/house (underpass, cardboard box)?
- What has been the most breathtaking experience of your life?
- When you're being a grumpy-pants, what's your usual reason?
- In keeping with the season, what are you thankful for?
- What are you doing this weekend?

I wish I could answer this week's questions but there just too darn hard. I tell ya, there's just no talking to that Weekend Topic Board.

Thanks, everyone. Happy Weekend!

{{{GG}}} I feel for you. What a situation you're in. I hope and pray it gets better quickly.

- Which 'Golden Girl' do you most closely resemble: Blanche (sexy), Rose (sweet, naive), Dorothy (dry, bitter) or Sophia (sarcastic)? I'm an exact cross between them ALL!!

- If you could buy 'sense of humor', who would you inject? That would take thought.

- What don't you like about your apartment/condo/house (underpass, cardboard box)? My kitchen. It's nice but the only room that has yet to be redone and updated.

- What has been the most breathtaking experience of your life? The first time I got a standing ovation (playing Aldonza in Man Of La Mancha) but that pales in comparison to marrying Bitt!!

- When you're being a grumpy-pants, what's your usual reason? Something or someone is in my way and hindering what I'm trying to do. Can't take people who don't know to get out of other people's space.

- In keeping with the season, what are you thankful for? Family, friends and good health.

- What are you doing this weekend? Doing Fall cleaning. I never get to do the soup to nuts cleaning in Spring so I do it now. Great because I'll be all ready for the holidays.

Job woes are the pits. Been there, done that.  I'm sorry you're going through that, gg.  It will get better eventually so just hang in there.

Which 'Golden Girl' do you most closely resemble: Blanche (sexy), Rose (sweet, naive), Dorothy (dry, bitter) or Sophia (sarcastic)?  Definitely Sophia, including the mischievous streak.

- If you could buy 'sense of humor', who would you inject?

My big boss.  Nice person but she needs to lighten up and enjoy life more.

- What don't you like about your apartment/condo/house (underpass, cardboard box)?

The driveway.  It's long, narrow, and not such that it can be widened.

- What has been the most breathtaking experience of your life?

Spending a semester abroad and seeing the Eiffel Tower, the Mona Lisa, the Coliseum, Big Ben, and on and on and on. Every morning, I got to wake up and decide what incredible thing to see that day. Just amazing!

- When you're being a grumpy-pants, what's your usual reason?

Frustration, fatigue, or both.

- What don't you like about your apartment/condo/house (underpass, cardboard box)? It's too big and empty now that the boys have moved out.  And too much maintenance!

(((((gg)))) I fell so bad for you and I know exactly how you feel because I have been in a similar situation.  I hated it as much as you do and feel for you.  I never, ever cry at work either, but there were a couple of times that I had to fight back tears.  I don't like being put in that kind of emotional state when I'm at work.  I'm glad you shared what you are going through and yes I do want to know, so don't feel bad for sharing .  Even if all that I can give to you is a cyber hug,  it is important that you know you can come here to share what you are going through.  Stay strong and always, always come and rant here, especially if it helps.

- Which 'Golden Girl' do you most closely resemble: Blanche (sexy), Rose (sweet, naive), Dorothy (dry, bitter) or Sophia (sarcastic)?  Rose, Sometimes I can be very naive and clueless.

- If you could buy 'sense of humor', who would you inject? My brothers, especially when talking about politics or social and cultural issues.

- What don't you like about your apartment/condo/house (underpass, cardboard box)? I don't like my bathroom and all of the floors in the house.  There is much more I can add but right now, after doing the exterior home improvements, these are the next two issues that need to be taken care of.   Other than that, I love my neighborhood and like my neighbors.

- What has been the most breathtaking experience of your life? Being a mom of a new born.  I have experience so many,  unexpected breathtaking moments with my sons when they were babies.

- When you're being a grumpy-pants, what's your usual reason? I really feel grumpy when my clothes don't feel right, my hair didn't come out the way I want and I'm either too hot or too cold.  I'm super grumpy when this all happens at once.

- In keeping with the season, what are you thankful for? Martin, the boys, my life, and family.

- What are you doing this weekend? Martin and I went out to dinner last night.  We had a very nice time at a great Mexican restaurant.  Today he and I worked on clearing out the basement.  Tomorrow, probably food shopping for Thanksgiving and getting ready for a very short work week.

gg, have a good weekend and thanks again for the fun questions.  Please take care of yourself, and remember you have friends here that care about what you are going through.

Have a great weekend all!!

Which 'Golden Girl' do you most closely resemble: Blanche (sexy), Rose (sweet, naive), Dorothy (dry, bitter) or Sophia (sarcastic)?  Well, I'd like to think I resemble Blanche, but the truth is I'm closer to Sophia.

- If you could buy 'sense of humor', who would you inject?

That's a tough one....maybe a couple of posters on this board?

- What don't you like about your apartment/condo/house (underpass, cardboard box)?

I love everything about my house, no complaints from me.  But I do know a great place under a bridge in Ft. Myers.......my sister's car broke down there and while we were waiting for a tow truck we decided that it would be a nice cosy place to live....it took the tow truck so long we were beginning to think we were going to have to go find a cardboard box and spend the night there.

- What has been the most breathtaking experience of your life?

All of touring Europe a few years ago. I saw places that I had only dreamed about.....the whole trip was breathtaking.

- When you're being a grumpy-pants, what's your usual reason?

No reason...I can just be a grump because I'm old enough to not need an excuse.

Dear gg.....I can understand exactly what you are feeling because some pretty similiar things are going on in my family.  My oldest son is losing his job the first of the year.  His department has been eliminated.  He's in his fifties so getting another job that would match what he is losing is not going to be easy.  My daughter has already lost her job, she was a teacher at a live-in school for exceptional childen.  There were two schools, one in another town, but because of dropping enrollment the other school has been closed and the teachers from that school have seniority...so some newer teachers had to be laid off.......so if you possibly can do it.....hang in there for now.....because there is not much out there for anyone.  I think it is better to be crying about the job you have than about not having a job at all.   It sounds as though it is pretty rough on you, but when it gets too bad you know you can always come here and vent.....we  will always listen and give you our 'valuable' advice.  You know we are the wisest on the internet....so smile a little and hang in there....you can do anything for awhile.....and just believe that better days are coming.

Now I have to go back and get your questions...

    God bless
