Good questions. How do you ever come up with them?

- Describe one of your favorite movie scenes?.......I was just answering a question on Y&R about musicals, so that's what comes to mind now. I really liked the final dance in "Dirty Dancing" and the production number of "One" in "A Chorus Line" (though it's better live, on DVD I can rewind and watch over again) .

- Do you think people perceive you in the same way as you perceive yourself? Elaborate.......For some reason others percieve me as short and ordinary, but I percieve me as tall and elegant. They have a problem. LOL

- Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours.......This week is an example. We've been dealing with where is Gustav headed. Is it going to hit Houston or not? So what do I do, while others are boarding up and stocking up? I'm doing laundry, mopping floors, washing windows, polishing the dining room table and chairs, painting the back door, planting herbs. If it's panic time, I go into super make-nice mode.

- What institution is most in need of change?......The whole Federal government and in the case of Texas, yeah that one, too.

- What future discovery do you anticipate the most?......The cure for all forms of cancer.

Wish us luck, looks like no hurricane here, but floods and tornados could be ahead. Well, at least my house won't look like a tornado already hit. lol

Describe one of your favorite movie scenes?  Mamma Mia is my new all time favourite movie and I could choose almost any scene ...

Do you think people perceive you in the same way as you perceive yourself? Elaborate.  I have found, as a general rule, that people see me as a much stronger person than I feel myself to be.  I have also found, however, that that belief in me inspires me to greater feats than I had believed possible for myself.
Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours.
I am a counter.  When walking I will count my steps, until more important thoughts intrude.  I often count the number of people in a group, cars on passing trains, seconds until a traffic light changes, etc ...
What institution is most in need of change?
Education
What future discovery do you anticipate the most?
The day the entire human race discovers that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

Describe one of your favorite movie scenes? Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel in The Producers: The scene where Wilder is telling Mostel he is hysterical, then in pain and hysterical, then wet and hysterical.
- Do you think people perceive you in the same way as you perceive yourself? Elaborate. I think what you see is what you get. I'm confident most of the time, but I slip into bouts of anxiety every now and then.
- Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours. I will not watch a movie if I walk in even a minute late.
- What institution is most in need of change? The current administration.
- What future discovery do you anticipate the most? A cure for cancer.

Enjoy the Labor Day holiday!

Those Sox better start winning!!! I'm getting a little nervous here, they're behind the Twins. Those darn Cubs keep winning. What's happening?!

My favorite movie scene was that one scene in 'My Cousin Vinny' where he comes in the courtroom with that suit on. I LMAO!!!

Do I think people percieve me the same as I percieve myself? People percieve me in many ways. I'm accused of being judgemental 'cause I always call it like I see it. I don't hold back, yeah it gets me trouble a lot. I never say anything about anyone I haven't already said to there face. I think people know this about me.

Unique or quirky habbit? Hmmm, I dunno. I have a bad habit which is smoking.

Institution in need of change? Oh, I dunno.

Future discovery? I hope they find cures. Cures for cancer, cures for AIDS, cures for those who are paralized, there's so many, we need cures.

Hi GG and thanks, as always........

Describe one of your favorite movie scenes? There are many but I'll pick the scene in Carousel where Julie and Billy first see each other.
- Do you think people perceive you in the same way as you perceive yourself? Elaborate. I believe people see me as very calm and not excitable when it's not the case at all.  Inside I am not this way (hence blood pressure medication).
- Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours. I don't see it but my husband says I mumble sometimes and my mother used to mention it at times. It's probably gotten worse as I've aged LOL.
- What institution is most in need of change? The Presidency
- What future discovery do you anticipate the most? Discovering how to cure Cancer

Hi, gg, thanks for the questions!

- Describe one of your favorite movie scenes? I have a gazillion - but I do love the wedding (Karen & Henry's) scene in GoodFellas when Karen is meeting all of Henry's buddies & their wives, and they're all named Paulie, Pete and Marie!

- Do you think people perceive you in the same way as you perceive yourself? Elaborate. IRL I think they do, but here maybe not.  I have been accused of being arrogant, know-it-all, baby killer (my favorite - due to my pro-choice views) and really, it's easy to interpret a post (or an e-mail, for that matter) completely differently than the original intent - especially if  you don't agree or have a set-in-stone opinion of the poster.

- Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours. I talk (or mumble) to other drivers - constantly.  I make up nicknames for them, I praise them or damn them, I tell them constantly to "Hang up and f*ing DRIVE", etc.  I do warn anyone who is passenger that this will happen and not to be alarmed - bwahahahahahaha

- What institution is most in need of change? The property tax based funding of public schools.  That may not be a nationwide issue, but it is here and it creates a huge gap between the haves and have-nots when it comes to access to a quality education, textbooks, facilities, programs.  It's an absolute travesty and it makes me SICK.

- What future discovery do you anticipate the most? OMG, again, so many!  Here's a fun one - virtual (of course) invisibility!  I did read recently that about a huge breakthrough in making this happen, but it was on a microscopic object.  Basically it's "cloaking" the object to not be visible to the naked eye - blending in with surroundings and therefore unseen.  I imagine endless fun with this!

Hello gg, I hope all is well with everyone on board. Great questions as always!

Describe one of your favorite movie scenes? - I adore the ending of Breakfast at Tiffany's. In the taxi, when Paul is professing his love to an stoic Holly, then she throws the cat out of the taxi. Disgusted Paul, leaves her in the taxi alone. Then she goes running in the rain to look for the cat, the final kiss, with the cat tucked in her raincoat, pure romance, and I love every bit of it!

Do you think people perceive you in the same way as you perceive yourself? Elaborate. I think most that know me see me the way I am. Loveable, caring, funny, and teetering on the edge of insanity!

Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours. I make up silly songs about everything and everyone, the cat, my kids, the hubby, the kitchen cabinets, you name it. The songs just come to me, it drives my son nuts, especially when the girls sing along. You could say I'm a regular Weird Amie Yankovic LOL!

What institution is most in need of change? So many, but our Public School System is in desperate need of repair. It's a shame that the most "progressive" nation, the so called "Super power" has an inferior education system. The US ranks below Mexico and Cuba!

What future discovery do you anticipate the most? I look forward to the promise of stem cell research. There are so many illness that could benefit, but the bone heads in Washington won't let us. If one is so Right to Life, then how about extending that right to those that are living now. It's irrational to equate stem cell research to abortion.

May you all have a safe and blessed holiday weekend. By the way gg, are you impressed at how I remembered to close all my fonts?

It's been a billion years since I've made it to a Daily Topic! Work has kept me on my toes... and my computer at home died. I'm finally rocking it out on a laptop. Anyway --- Here we go!

    - Describe one of your favorite movie scenes? I'm very partial to the movie "Magnolia"... the scene where Julianne Moore is picking up pain killers (liquid morphine) for her dying husband always sticks out in my mind. She's broken. She married him for the wrong reasons. She cheated on him. She was a bad human being... but realizes how wrong she was and how much she loved him. It's utterly devestating to watch her fall to pieces.

    - Do you think people perceive you in the same way as you perceive yourself? Elaborate. Such an interesting question. It's really such an individualized question/concept. My closest friends all have such varied opinions of me. Some know I'm a hard-core outdoorsman. A few know me by my addiction to the gym and working out. Others only know me as the clubbing, partying gay boy. I hope I'm true to who I've become. I've spent an awful long time perfecting myself.

    - Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours. Quirky? Is biting one's fingernails quirky?

    - What institution is most in need of change? The Alabama state government! They won't allow beer over 6.0% alcohol content to be sold. What the hell is that all about?

    - What future discovery do you anticipate the most? The discovery of a cure for AIDS. That or the fact that Cindy McCain is a robot.

  • Please take care, Dear JR, keep safe. I'll be thinking about you!~amie
  • Bwahahahahaha! She does have that vacant stare - I thought more Stepford Wives but maybe she IS a robot! eom Kelly Oh!!

    - Describe one of your favorite movie scenes? There are so many I wouldn't know where to begin.

    - Do you think people perceive you in the same way as you perceive yourself? Elaborate. People perceive me in different ways -- some similar to how I see myself, others not.

    - Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours. According to my husband, I obsess over the cat.  I pick her up, pull her ears back, kiss her on the top of the head, and tell her what a good cat she is.  She loves that.  Mr. Ingy thinks we're both weird.

    - What institution is most in need of change? I'll go with the obvious answer and say the U.S. Presidency

    - What future discovery do you anticipate the most? Time travel.  I don't know that it would ever be possible but I think it would be very cool.

  • It's funny you say that about your cats. I do the exact same thing with my kittys, Fred and Barney
