Additional Comments: Hello..My dad has been having telephone problems for the past 4 months. I have had 6 techs come in & say they have fixed the problem (when on the phone he sometimes get's cut off, makes loud noises, etc... I used his phone & it happened to me..I got cut off while using it)...Last Saturday I went to his house to meet with another tech (#7) to "fix" the problem. The guy said he is having my dad's phone monitored for 6 days to see why this is happening. I asked why was this not done sooner( I got no answer)..anyway..I called today to see what they came up with & they need to contact another department. They told me they will be calling me later (which I doubt they will ) My dad has cablevision (Optimun). While I am hoping they fix the problem. I was wondering if anyone who lives in NY area and can recommend another telephone company... I would really appreciate it..thanks... p.s. I was told not to go to Verizon..that they are just as bad? I am not sure...

I am not in NY (we are in VA) but up until we moved in April, we had Verizon for both phone and internet and we didn't have a problem at all.....not once.....when we got the internet, we called the number and they walked us thru the installation just perfectly! Our phone service has been with Verizon since the switch to Verizon from the old Bell Atlantic which was formerly C&P telephone. That is all my family has ever had...they have always lived here in this area....actually in the same houses! LOL Anyway, for what it is worth, Verizon has never given us any problems and when you call to change your plan or whatever, they are always very helpful and nice.
Good luck! Sounds like they know there is a problem but nobody knows enough to get it fixed! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I can't imagine how frustrated you all must be!

Message: Angela, we have Verizon for everything; cell phone, computer, house phone, and cable. We haven't had a problem (knock on wood) with them. Service has been fine and we like their cable service.
