Topic: * IMITATION WEDNESDAY DAILY * (Better than imitation cheese - GUARANTEED)

Additional Comments:

I'm thinking the Wednesday Daily was the WORD GOLF game, which is a blast!  Sometimes I can't seem to keep up!  But I'm reading my weekly SOD and I flipped to the back page, which is a Q&A with some random soap actor.  Usually the questions are relatively lame, but this week I liked 'em.  And wanted to ask YOU the same things!

WHAT TALENT DO YOU WISH YOU WERE BORN WITH?

WHAT HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO DO, BUT WERE AFRAID TO TRY?

WHICH PUBLIC FIGURE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRADE PLACES WITH FOR ONE DAY?

WHAT CD DO YOU KNOW ALL THE WORDS TO?

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE AISLE AT THE SUPERMARKET?

My answers:

Playing the piano.  My brother does it for a living.  I tried (lessons for years!) and was never very good.

Singing as a profession.  I'm definitely an amateur singer.  I've sat in with a band from time to time, but haven't done it in years.  My dream has always been to be a torch singer in a piano bar.  I could sing jazz ballads all night.

Trade places with a public figure?  That would be frightening!  It certainly wouldn't be a politician 'cause Lord knows I couldn't handle that responsibility (not that W. can either, but I digress).  I'm going to say Britney Spears.  Sounds silly, I know, but I'd like to be a better parent to her children.

I have Sirius satellite radio in my car, so I don't listen to CDs very often anymore.  I probably know all the words to my Ella Sings Cole Porter CD.

I try not to go down the actual aisles of the supermarket unless there's something specific I'm looking for.  The best stuff is around the circumfrence - meat, seafood, produce, dairy, bakery.  It's all around the outside.  It's when I go up and down the aisles of stuff that I wind up with five half-gallons of ice cream.

WHAT HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO DO, BUT WERE AFRAID TO TRY?  I want to go to New Zealand but the long plane ride deters me.

WHICH PUBLIC FIGURE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRADE PLACES WITH FOR ONE DAY?  Regis Philbin LOL  I don't know, never think about being someone else.

WHAT CD DO YOU KNOW ALL THE WORDS TO?  all my Todd Rundgren cds from the 70's, they are 'ingrained in my brain'.... later ones believe it or not, I forget from year to year.  In fact Sat. we went to see the Wallflowers and I realized I had already forgotten words to their 2005 album... slipping... stuff from my teenage early 20's somehow stays w/ me.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE AISLE AT THE SUPERMARKET?  hmmmm tough call... I like them all.  I can't buy everything, but sure is fun to fantasize buying loads of everything, especially if calories are no issue... cheese, snacks, ice cream, bakery dept, meat, veggies... see what I mean!   there's good stuff in every aisle!

  • LOVE Todd Rundgren! I need to listen to his stuff more often. --susie

Hello dear Susie, hope all is well with everyone on board.

WHAT TALENT DO YOU WISH YOU WERE BORN WITH?
It may not be considered a talent, but I wish I was a better housekeeper. The worst part is, I don't really care, as long as the toilets and kitchen are clean.

WHAT HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO DO, BUT WERE AFRAID TO TRY?
Scuba dive, it must be beautiful, but being down under several feet in the ocean seems scary to me.

WHICH PUBLIC FIGURE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRADE PLACES WITH FOR ONE DAY?
Madonna, wouldn't it be fab to be her for a day? Could I keep the clothes?

WHAT CD DO YOU KNOW ALL THE WORDS TO?
Several! But just to name one, "Abbey Road" by The Beatles.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE AISLE AT THE SUPERMARKET?
The aisle where the wine is sold. LOL, I'm a bit of a wino! I'm also a beauty product addict, so I like that aisle as well. Wine and Oil of Olay, what's not to love!

    Thanks for the fun!

  • OMG! Amie, I'm the same way about housekeeping! I just want a clean bathroom and kitchen. I so wish I was born with the desire to keep a cleaner house. And ITA about the wine aisle. Mr. News and I love tasting all the wines from Trader Joes. --susie

  • Go ahead, rub it in! LOL! I envy you. Not that I'd want to perform publically, I'd mostly like to do it for my own enjoyment. ~i&b
  • My favorite to sing was Good Morning Heartache. I miss those days.eom/WE
  • Oprah! Good choice. : ) --susie

  • LMAO at Vanessa Paradis!!! Yeah. ME TOO!!! LOL! If you ever have an opportunity to go out on a lake for water skiing, vg, I recommend the knee board. You can kneel on a board and surf the boat's wake. I've done it (I was probably 15 or 16 at the time), and it was AWESOME! I can't snow ski or water ski, but this was something I could do. --susie
  • I don't think I've ever seen this done, but it sounds like fun. How be I stand on shore and watch you first? ...valleygirl
  • Water skiing is fun but takes balance and strength. Go ahead jump into being Vanessa for a day - HE'LL be with MOI!!eom/Weeeeeee
  • I lack the strength for waterskiing, but have plenty of it to beat you off MY MAN!!! ...valleygirl

WHAT TALENT DO YOU WISH YOU WERE BORN WITH? The ability to play an instrument - any instrument.

WHAT HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO DO, BUT WERE AFRAID TO TRY? Well I have tried but will always be askeered of roller coasters.

WHICH PUBLIC FIGURE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRADE PLACES WITH FOR ONE DAY? Queen Elizabeth. It doesn't have to be a monumental day - just want to know what it's really like to be da queen!!

WHAT CD DO YOU KNOW ALL THE WORDS TO? Soooo many. Every show I've ever done and fav artists. Right now we'll go with Pirates Of Penzance.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE AISLE AT THE SUPERMARKET? Probably produce. Mine also includes gourmet cheeses and seafood.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • Oh! I didn't even THINK of royalty to switch with for a day! Sheesh! You'd think I would have, since I am a princess in my mind! LOL! But W.E. I have to challenge you. You say ANY instrument would do, but which instrument would you really love to be able to play? I remember being young and wanting to play the harp. I still would like to learn to play the harp. But there are so many instruments. Can you narrow it down? Woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion? --susienews
  • Definitely the piano. I tease my musicians all the time. At the end of a show the flute, clarinet, sax, etc. all pack away easily. Then there's the percussive guys taking forever to pack up or stow away. I always say if you could go back and rethink it wouldn't you play the flute? eom/WE
  • LOL! I played the flute when I was younger. I wanted to play saxophone, but my dad said I wouldn't want to carry that big case to school. I was upset at the time, but he was probably right. --susie
