Very interesting night. Everyone has two routines and there are three weeks to go. Tonight they dance ballroom and latin.
Marissa & Tony: Tango - Instrumental
She's a cutie but I'm so over the cutesy. She can dance but it's not always easy to watch. Tony needs to style for the type of woman she is. I find myself looking away when I know a particular move is coming. That's the challenge Tony. Nice job but it didn't knock me out.
len: came out - you're best dance. 9
Bruno: great job. 9
Carrie: such a wonderful performance. Fantastic. 9

Cristian & Cheryl: Viennese Waltz - Tonight Is The Night
I just want to keep watching him rehearse. Awww, his daughter is a sweetie pie and calls him a prince. He is really on fire and a smooth dancer. Sexy TOO. Great choreography.
Bruno: South America's Clark Gable. Brilliant interplay.9
Carrie: new fluidity found but it lacked a bit. 8
Len: a bit of romance but lacked content. Very good routine to watch. 8

Kristi & Mark: Viennese Waltz - I'm With You
She has to calm HIM down in rehearsal so they go skating. She only fears the male celebs (no mention of Shannon or Marissa). Whoa and wow. Those turns were something else but not perfect. They told a wonderful story and I loved the use of the umbrella.
Carrie: Prop paid off but technically off. 9
Len: start was too long. Don't need props. (Len says Bruno's hot air is the cause of global warming) 8
Bruno: played dramatically very well. 9

NOTE: This was the same week Sabrina left. Don't think that can happen but giving an 8 on this dance?? Keeping Kristi humble perhaps (lol).
Mario & Karina: Fox Trot
Poor guy gets his highest scores and was bottom 2. There's almost no one trying harder than Mario (imo). Another great job.
Len: great maturity for 21. Not the most elegant but well done. 8
Bruno: so much youthful vitality.. Not quite there but always a pleasure. 8
Carrie: very ambitious and difficult routines. Need to be stiffer (did anyone else hear snickers) 8

KENNY MAYNE AND JERRY RICE RETURN MANANA!!!!
Tom's quip o' the evening where will Shannon and Derek put their feet. (Last week all four were in their mouths).
Shannon & Derek: Tango - Instrumental
STOP apologizing (the damage is done) and dance. They look great and the dance is fine. She's no competition for those left but this is her finest hour. If they go I won't miss them.
Bruno: a bitch of a dance - this was fascinating. 9
Carrie: best dance yet. Good job. 9
Len: Teriffic job - well done. 9

Jason & Edyta: Quick Step - The Dirty Boogie
Fun rehearsal. He looks great, is light on his feet and does a fantastic job. Phenomenal ending (encore dance maybe).
Carrie: Great - larger than life. Fantastic. 10
Len: You're (footballers) a tenacious bunch - you're in the final. 9
Bruno: Quick lightening. Performance of the night. 10

Marissa & Tony: Rumba - Quando, Quando, Quando
She can dance, truly, I'm just not enjoying watching her. Ballroom is not the style for her. Broadway IS.
Bruno: full bloom, romantic, warm and sweet. 8
Carrie: beautiful - gave me goose bumps. 9
Len: you acted the part. wasn't much hip action - too careful. 8

Cristian & Cheryl: Samba
Good lord I'm loving this. OH NOOOOOO he must stop then tries to go on but he's injured. He has a sever muscle cramp and leaves for the hospital. The judges state they will score on what they saw up until he stopped.
Carrie: appreciates he went on for Cheryl. 7
Len: agrees - carried on7
Bruno: also appreciates him. 7
TOTAL: 21 + 25=46 of 60
NOTE: What they saw up until he stopped was only worthy of SEVENS??? Are they kidding???? They HAD to have taken off because he didn't complete.
Kristi & Mark: Cha Cha - Don't Stop The Music
More than redeems herself. This is great and so fun to watch and HOT.
Len: liked the middle but not the style - Bugaloo Hip Hop (Bruno argues) 8
Bruno: very inventive - loved it. 10
Carrie: 2 snaps up for Hip Hop Cha Cha. 10
TOTAL: 26 + 28= 54 of 60
Mario & Karina: Mambo
Incredible comeback from earlier. Great choreography.
Bruno: slick, fast, furious and dangerous. Devil in your hips. 9
Carrie: set the place on fire. 9

Shannon & Derek: Mambo - Ain't Nothing Wrong With That
She's truly awkward. A stab at a cute hip-action-in-the-judges'-faces is lame and very high school/childish - the rest of the routine follows suit. She is more awkward tonight than she's ever been. Wonder if Len will call her on the (fake butt) prop.
Carrie: I don't know what to say (can't say I blame you). Lines are awkward (yep they are). 8
Len: died and gone to heaven. Bionic bum but Carrie's right - gawky (ouch). 8
Bruno: worked the tushie but agrees - ganglyness.8

Jason & Edyta: Paso Doble - The Theme From Monday Night Football
He is wicked and looks fine. Fab job.
Len scared the ^&*%...life out of me. A bit too much posing. 8
Bruno: stormy Jason master commander. A winner. 9
Carrie: fantastic and unconventional. (Jason tried to keep her low to the floor for lift but he did take her up). Foot off floor for lift - not needed. 9
TOTAL: 29 + 26= 55 of 60
Jason and Edyta pass Kristi and Mark for the lead. Cristian is at the bottom due to his injury and the low scores. I still think the weakest one here is Shannon and she should go (and for a bunch of other reasons, too). If Cris goes before her it's wrong. JMO.
I am not sure what Len was looking at with Kristi and Mark last night. They were absolute perfection and have the most creative choreography. I think the judges might be worried that the competition is getting too one-sided with them and lowered their scores.
I'm sorry but Christian is not a good dancer. Cheryl Burke carries him and she is so good she creates an illusion, but I am not too thrilled with him. I am sorry he got hurt but up to that point he was mediocre IMO. Jason's quick step was great and the best he has been this year, but his second dance was just more posing, which he does a great deal of.
Shannon and Derek are done - stick a fork in them. Marissa has improved a great deal.

I pretty much agree with all of your comments. For the most part everyone did pretty well.
The story and use of the umbrella by Kristi and Mark was very nice. He looked so HOT, there's just something about a man in uniform! I also loved their CHA CHA.
I thought Jason and Edyta were the highlight of the evening with their QUICK STEP. They should be the encore dance tonight, JMO.
My other favorites were Christian and Cheryl with both dances. I felt so bad for him when he grabbed his arm and really think they were robbed with their scores. I hope he's OK and will be back tonight and able to continue with the rest of the competition.
My guess for elimination tonight is Shannon and Derek.
I'm glad your show went well and appreciate Linda filling in while you were away. She did a great job.

BALLROOM ROUND:
Marissa & Tony-TANGO--This was her best dance. She even looked light on her feet! Wonderful routine. Beautiful costume. Crisp, clear moves. But it just isn't her dance. I think it would be easier to accept her fuller body size if she was with a smaller partner. With Tony, she has this double thing going on.
Cristián & Cheryl-VIENNESE WALTZ--Another beautiful performance. I don't see what Len is talking about, I thought they had a lot of traditional Viennese Waltz in there and I'm a stickler for that. He's getting picky now that they are getting down to two dances. I thought that Cris did a wonderful job. I loved that ending with Cheryl's drop/swing, the spread eagle swing around again and his slide to her. Great! His daughter is cute, too.
Kristi & Mark-VIENNESE WALTZ--So beautiful! I liked the umbrella prop. If you want to compare it to Cris & Cheryl's, going by what Len said about not enough waltz to Cris, Kristi had less than Cris and yet Len didn't say anything. I still liked it anyway. Loved seeing a little bit of her on the ice too.
Mario & Karina-FOXTROT--Very good. Not as good as last week. I couldn't figure out what was bothering me but I think Carrie Ann put her finger on it. He could have been a little more stiff. It seemed his knees were in constant bend, other than when they were supposed to be. Otherwise, I liked it.
Shannon & Derek-TANGO--I thought that was terrific! Shannon did a wonderful job. Good quick and sharp movements. Little problem with the hat bit at the end but it all came out okay. I'm glad Derek finally put his feelings for her aside to teach her more properly. The music was a little weird and yet fit well.
Jason & Edyta-QUICKSTEP--Fantastic! What happened to that stiff guy from last week? He loosened up, didn't watch Edyta's feet and had fun with it! Great dance! Kristi, watch out!
LATIN ROUND
Marissa & Tony-RUMBA--I liked the dance. It was sexy, but they didn't seem to use the floor much. It seemed to be more in one place. I would have preferred more to it.
Cristián & Cheryl-SAMBA--Oh, I feel so bad for Cristián and Cheryl too. I hope he can continue because I like seeing him in this and he is doing so well. Up to that point, I thought he was doing pretty good because the last time he complained that he couldn't do the Latin dances as well for a Latin.
Kristi & Mark-CHA-CHA--Terrific! As soon as I saw them do the hip-hop moves, though, I knew Len would have a problem with it. But for me it was great as usual.
Mario & Karina-MAMBO--Wonderful! Sexy! Mario seems to do well on the Latin dances. Are you sure that he and Cristián aren't mixed up? LOL! It did seem like they didn't end right with the music. Was that intentional or were they off?
Shannon & Derek-MAMBO--Much, Much Improved!! A fake butt, huh? Well, it looked like she really wanted the judges to see that she could move those hips by doing it right in front of them. I thought that it was good but I think Derek needs to take her to a ballet class to help her smooth out her gangliness. She finally got the idea that you have to overexaggerate sometimes to make things come across better since she has no hips to begin with.
Jason & Edyta-PASO DOBLE--Wow! That was Great! He has improved so much from last week, but he, too, still has a little stiffness in him. Maybe he and Shannon should take a class together. But I loved that he did it to the Monday Night Football theme music. That was creative on Edyta's part. It was a good thing that he wasn't traded this week as had been rumored. They would have had to do a last minute costume color change, LOL!
Some Comments: I just have to say I like how supportive of all the couples are of each other. I liked how they all stood up in a "touchdown" stance like Jason's ending to cheer him on when he and Edyta came backstage. Their support for Cris too. You wouldn't think they are competing. Even Shannon & Derek are much better. I think Derek was just protecting Shannon and felt so bad for her that he wasn't thinking that he was talking to the camera. If they go out now, I think they will feel much better about it because she finally got approval on her hips. If Cristián has to bow out, they might do something like they did with Sara Evans a couple of seasons ago. If he is able to stay in, he might have extra votes due to sympathy and Shannon, Marissa and Mario might be in danger. Right now it looks like a showdown between Kristi and Jason. Kristi has to step it up more now.
One more Tom moment--I loved Tom's announcing for tomorrow "those ballroom favorites...Def Leppard!". Oh, and Kenny Mayne and Dance Center is back! Looking forward to that.

A few brief comments about this week. I feel so bad about this, but I cannot 'connect' with Marissa. Her costuming is horrible and she just looks out of place on the ballroom floor. I'm uncomfortable watching her.
I'm so displeased with the judges regarding Cristian. It seems to me that they DID include his mishap in the scores when they said they wouldn't. Had they not, I believe he would have scored a point higher with each judge.
Shannon needs to go. I've lost interest in her after that outburst. What poor sportsmanship she has shown. Derek may have spoken the truth about some other couples, but being a pro, I don't accept his apology. I BET he wants us all to forget and move on!!!!
I fear for Mario. Does he have a small fan base or is Karina a liability?
Tonight is brutal ~~AI -- DWTS -- Boston Legal = too many goodies in one evening!
