Subject: I enjoy watching VI play David as much as I'm rooting for Amanda and Jake to rise above everything he's done and to be the biological parents of both Trevor and the new baby. That said it's almost skeevy each time he tries to taunt Jake knowing what transpired between he and Amanda. I hope Amanda comes clean so, if I'm right, once those babies are theirs and they get their life back he has nothing to hold over her head. The writers have really done a lot of characters dirty of late. Dave has always been dark but this is getting to be too much and for what? Is he that hard up that this is the only way he can get a woman? She hates him but I guess he has a plan and will renege on the deal. Not attractive but I still want to love to hate David for VI's sake. eom/WE

Subject: Rape isn't about sex or lust or love, as we all learned in Psychology 101. Rape is all about power and control. So, by the PSYCHOLOGICAL definition of rape, David is a rapist. He has raped Amanda and the Martins and the Chandlers and anyone else that he wants to overcome, defeat and hurt. No, he doesn't love Amanda or even especially desire her. He DOES want to beat and humiliate her, as payback for what she and Jake did to him. There's a reason why we use the term *scr*w job*, ya know! Understatement

Subject: I don't think David is a sexual predator...sex is just one tool in his toolbox...so to speak no pun intended. This happened to be the tool that worked for this particular caper. Sometimes it's pills, sometimes it's anger and rage, sometimes it's blinky-eyed cuteness. David uses whatever will get him to what it is he wants. So that's a manipulator and in this case he's also left with power and control...the secret, the promise to keep it, etc. If he could have gotten what he wanted...be it Martin revenge or whatever...using something like booze alone-nothing more...he'd have gotten Amanda drunk. If he can get what he wants using...I don't know...a display of his piano virtuosity...he'd have rented Carnegie Hall and put on a concert. That's just my opinion. SORAS

Subject: WE.....I also enjoy watching VI play David the same way I enjoy watching Roscoe Born play the contemptible Mitch Laurence on OLTL. They are both good actors, who play VERY skeevy characters. However, appreciating VI's acting is one thing, and not apprecitating the character's actions are another!! In my opinion, Dr. David is no longer a run-of-the-mill villain......he is firmly in the Billy Clyde Tuggle villain slot!!eom/Tex

Subject: Oh no...not even close to Billy Clyde and his Persuadiator...no---that guy was physically violent...I don't mean sexually physically...I mean he beat people, etc...he was out to do body-damage physical violence and yes I know rape (and David raped nobody) is a physically violent act but I'm talking Billy Clyde enjoyed being able to beat people to a pulp and do body damage to them...and Billy Clyde had NO redeeming factors...at least David truly is a good father to Trevor (so far) although he really hasn't paid a lot of attention to Marissa....and he's a world famous, talented cardiologist who has never refused to operate on the friends and family of people who have been his enemy and make no bones about it...so he is a gifted surgeon who does try to heal people. And look at all the ladies thought to be dead whom he brought back to life..LOL...and there's someone else out there now...so....he's no Billy Clyde...Billy Clyde would let the ladies die, rape them post mortem, and steal their pocketbooks and never look back. Subject: I believe that David does the same sort of damage to people that Billy Clyde did. Just as Billy Clyde was evil because he enjoyed physically beating people, David is evil because of the way he enjoys drugging and manipulating people.....and now we see him using sex as a way to punish/degrade. For me, they are opposite sides of the same evil coin. For ME, David is now just as over the top evil as Billy Clyde......stuck in the corner of pure villain of Pine Valley for the rest of his time there!!eom/Tex

David is an angel compared to Billy Clyde, David did not kidnap anyone, did not beat, rape or force Amanda to do anything sexual, she accepted his offer and obviously didn't fight him off. All she had to do was say no. If she or any woman had said no to Billy Clyde he would have knocked them unconscious and hide them away somewhere to torture them. David would never physically or sexual abuse any woman./goldie

Subject: Ah.........how soon you forget!! Since he has been back, David has manhandled Krystal many times, and even more recently, he held a gun to Liza's throat!!! David used sex to degrade and humilate Amanda, as a way to punish Jake. As for whether or not he would kidnap anyone, we will soon see if Greenlee is being held against her will or not. If she doesn't want to be there, then David will have kidnapped her!! The David that once was, is no more. THIS David is capable of everything Billy Clyde was!! David is now a stone cold villain!!
