Topic: Randi---Are they trying to make her the new Donna?

Additional Comments: HA!  Never!  Donna was great...and she could sing!  Remember that?  The best storyline was like around the late 1970s when Donna sort of turned good girl and was living rich, but then she somehow got amnesia and  reverted back to her hooker days.   So she went back to Locust Street, teased her hair back to its cotton candy perfection, put on that crimson lipstick and dove back into those hotpants!  I liked her hooker friend, too, Estelle La Tour.   Those were ENTERTAINING pavement pounders!

Donna was okay in my book but she had to grow on me.

It took awhile before I cared about her.

By the time she left I was back to not really caring again.

The great thing about Donna was that we understood WHY she'd taken to the street. There was a backstory about her father having abused her, and how at a very young age she'd run away from home. We could feel for Donna, we could empathize. And Estelle too...what a great character Estelle was! We were rooting for both these women because they had real, plausible, comprehensible problems.  Whereas in the case of Randi, we don't even know what motivated her in the first place, so how can we feel anything or relate?
