Topic: More Knick and Knacks

Additional Comments:

Just finished dusting my Knick/Knack shelf and ran across the following:

Figurines of Kendall and Greenlee clinking champaign glasses (Those two are always toasting while  clinking  wine glasses,  etc.).

A miniture pottery piece reflecting a bowl of green apples . (From the Lavery house).

 On the top shelf is a ''rare'' and valuable figurine with Zach wearing a beigh sweater and tan slacks (No black for Zach).  I'm gonna take that one to the Antique Road Show.

I do have a Harold & Tim combo, they rest on the bottom shelf

I have a figurine collection of Erica's husbands, yet I am missing Travis and Tom...if you have them I  am willing to trade for my Erica's wig collection. :)

What's on your shelves?

    Digging through my collection I found:

    three cookie cutters from Grandma Kate's kitchen;

    numerous empty miniature liquor bottles from Arlene's stash;

    and last, but definitely least, a stuffed cow that's soooo Babe. I'd be glad to return it to her as it just doesn't bring back any good memories.

  • Ahh, Jinx, those are great items. I can even smell the baking going on in the Martin kitchen. Wasn't that Arlene a hoot, and not forgotten. :) A stuffed cow, you say, hmmmm wonder if Babe stuffed it with peanut butter and banana pancakes, ha,ha. :) eom Suds
  • Wow, the Babe cow! Where'd you find that one? I've searched & searched for it on ebay but so far, no luck. LOL. Understatement

    Ahhhh, my shelves are full!  Just a few of my treasures:

    -One of Myrtle's Pekingese dog figurines.

    -A knob off of that big Chinese chest that used to sit at the top of the Chandler Manse stairway.

    -One of Arlene's purses, with a long, long chain strap.

    -A doll-house replica of Big Ugly Green Couch, complete with faded gold fringes.

    -A plastic banana off of Opal's "Carmen Miranda" hat.

    -A gold-framed picture of Leo, in his trademark leather pants.

    -Mimo's little hat.

    -Brass numbers pried off *the door* at the Valley Inn:  9 0 6

  • WHOA, Buddz, your collection is not only great, yet it also, reflects your great memory. I do not recall the mansion chest, or Myrtle's Pekingese figurines. Yet, Leo's leather pants, the beloved green couch, Arlene's purses and the Mimo's hats, are to die for in any collection. Hey, perhaps, you attended the same garage sale I did because I just about picked up Opal's hat and it was without a banana. Dang it all to heck, who was in 906, was it Madden, Dr.Dave, Erica, or who...help!!!!:) Thanks Buddz. :) eom Suds
  • ...it was the long-ago room of Dr. Dave Hayward, forever etched in my memory and eternally preserved in the shadowland of my heart...buddz :::observing reverent silence:::

    I have Desiree's show girl costume. It fits my Barbie doll perfectly.

    I have a rare pastel of Marion drawn by Stuart. It's not on display because if let out too long, the chalk begins to fade.

    I have a set of dishes from The Queen of Hearts diner. They're chipped and scratched but hold alot of fond memories. Never finished a complete meal on them, though.

  • Oh I forgot. I also have a copy of Brooke English's Tempo magazine with an article inside by Pulitzer prize winning author, Edmund Grey. I found it buried in a dumpster covered in dirt. /Cookie
  • Ahh, Cookie, your collections bring back fond memories. Hey, being Erica is soooo tiny, I'm certain the full scale costume does fit your doll. I completely forgot about the Queen Of Hearts, what a very endearing and precious SL that was. :) eom Suds
  • YIKES, I'm happy you retrived that Tempo edition. Now that was a loooong time ago and would qualify as a valuable antique. :) eom Suds

    I've got a vintage Janet Green Mirror that still works...that is, Janet's holographic face still appears in the glass. I've got a first edition doc-in-a-box Madden doll.  I've got an unopened bottle of Libidizone with the original label. I've got a classic and VERY RARE "Foxxy's Tail" from the Jenny-and-Greg era.

    Replies: (list all replies)

  • NO WAY, get out of town Understatement. You are a pro at collecting the finest . Janet' mirror will be in demand forever, The ''doc in a box'' item is priceless and its label is hilarious. Ahh, Dr. Dave's Libidizone potion must be a little rank by now, yet what a great vintage. WOW, the Foxy Tail has to be an all time treasure. Congratulation on your great finds!!!
  • Aw, shucks! You're too kind. It's just that I do a lotta yard sales....Understatement
