David manipulating Amanda into being methodically boinked by him in the car to conceive a child....

This twist instantly goes into the Soap Opera Hall of Fame as among the most stupid for two actors to have to play and most insulting to the viewers who habitually devote their time to this daytime drama.

I am this close to stop watching All My Children.

Frankly, this whole stupid storyline would end up being a little bit better if Janet Green was around. Either Kate Collins or Robin Mattson, having Janet around would pique other people's interest.

Well I get Crishelle's tweets and this is the scene she was referring to when she said she couldn't stand how stupid Amanda was. She said the scene is suppose to come across as extremely 'icky' and not in any way hot or seductive. Amanda finds David gross and is only doing this to gain her freedom (no matter how stupid it seems.) But Crishelle is aware how this will offend all factions of the audience...Those that love Amanda and Jake, and even those that like David. That was her POV anyway (with which I totally agree.)

Nobody is forcing Amanda to do anything. She not only gave David permission but instructions! That's not rape. I noticed she never said anything about not kissing her. She knows David very well and I can't believe didn't know what he was doing. I still think the one she wants is David.

David very seldom has sex with anyone because he is unable to approach women in any other way than as a predator. Think about Allie = stalking and blackmail, Gillian = demanding sex for the money she needed, Kyrstal = drugging her ''warm milk'' until she became addicted and then convincing her to leave Tad and her baby for him. Finally the total manipulation, lies, intimidation, blackmail and threats he has used on Amanda. In my opinion, his history (except with Erica and Anna) has been nothing but manipulating women, using sex as his ultimate 'prize'......his final use of power. Rape is not about sex......it is about power and control. David's predatory actions aren't about sex either.....it is all about power and control, and the humiliation of women who love the Martin men. He is disgusting. The David that was capable of loving Anna and Erica is gone.....all that is left is the manipulative, disgusting, sexual predator. eom/Tex

You are right about some of it, but who made him this way? A woman, his Mother, Vanessa was a very cruel woman especially to David. I think David tries, his hatred is just too deep,/j

I agree with you about the reason David behaves as he does, but that is no excuse for his displacing his hatred of Vanessa to the other women he decides to torment. The bottom line is that he is a hateful, reprehensible excuse for a man!! eom/Tex

I can see David doing this but what is Amanda's excuse? She is oviously not competent enough to take care of herself much less a child and Jake isn't much smarter, Little Trevor would be much safer under David's care. I agree, all the SLs going on right now are ridiculous, I guess the writers think all of us older viewers are senile at this point and don't know the difference between a good or bad SL.

That's crazy. Amanda is a very good mother. David is a severly damaged psycho. Jake is kind of a dork, but very good with the kiddies.
