I can still remember comments on this board about how bland Joanie (Amanda Seyfried) was, but apparently someone saw something good in her because her career seems to be going very well. She is a regular on HBO's Big Love and is now in Mama Mia with Meryl Streep.

Someone refresh my memory--I think Joanie was part of that teen group that dreadful summer when they built the Love Shack, but for the life of me, I can't remember who the others in the group were. I know some of you will remember--which one of the boys was she dating, and what happened to them?

I think the actress also played in Mean Girls. All I remember about Joanie is her ultra conservative, self righteous, bigoted, religious fanatic parents. Some poster on this board got upset with the storyline and said they were just trashing religious people because she didn’t know any religious people who were like that.

Wasn't the *Love Shack* over on OLTL? Where some of the young 20 somethings were murdered?

They did build a habitat house on AMC. Reggie was like the foreman and some kid wanted to steal the building supplies. I think it was Reggie and Joanie who hooked up, not cyberLaurie.

I wonder if that house collapsed on itself after the PV earthquake?

I did kind of think the Love Shack was at OLTL, but since I couldn't remember any of this storyline other than these teenagers building something, I just filed it under 'Whatever.' So it was probably on OLTL where they uncovered the bones (organ music, please) which were supposed to be connected to someone in Llanview (more organ music, please) but they never mentioned it again (sound of door slamming), right? Joanie was Jamie's girlfriend. She was the self-righteous daughter of ultra conservative parents. Jamie got sick of her preachiness, dumped her and went after his brothers girlfriend.

At the same time, the drugged-out, angst-ridden version of JR was played by Andrew Ridings... some scruffy looking kid who couldn't act and looked nothing like JR was supposed to look. His girlfriend Laurie called him "Jar". She had dark hair and an alcoholic father. So it was Jamie & Joanie, Jar & Laurie.... for a while.

But when Jar found out about Jamie & Laurie's kiss, Jar ran away and headed out to sea. He came back older, blonder, incredibly handsome and a skilled actor!

Jamie then dated Laurie for a while, but she wasn't ready for a relationship. So he turned to booze, hookers and older women and became a "cad" like dear old Dad.

Joanie dated Jamie, but she later had a thing for Reggie, and kissed him.

Thanks so much for the recap. It's hard to believe it was so long ago and so much has happened, because AS is just 23 years old. She really was a teenager then, not just playing one on tv. eom/CaroleA

She also has a CD and video coming out. All I recall is she had trouble with her dad who I think was one of the builders.
